Hopgood will succeed Joseph Kelley, who has been appointed as the Executive Vice President and leader of Nordson’s Industrial Precision Solutions segment.

Hopgood brings over 25 years of extensive financial and operational experience to his new role. He has been with Eaton Corporation (NYSE: ETN), a global power management company with a revenue of $23 billion, since 2012. In his current position at Eaton, he serves as the Controller and Chief Accounting Officer, overseeing global accounting and reporting functions, as well as driving the company’s finance strategy on a global scale. Previously, from 2013 to 2017, he held the position of Senior Vice President of Finance for Eaton’s Industrial Sector, where he collaborated with business leaders on finance, planning, and business development strategies. Before joining Eaton, he served as the Vice President of Aftermarket Americas at Meritor, Inc. (NYSE: MTOR), a Fortune 500 manufacturer of commercial vehicle components and systems, where he gained valuable general management experience by overseeing the day-to-day operations of the aftermarket business.

Sundaram Nagarajan, President and CEO of Nordson, expressed his enthusiasm about Hopgood joining the executive leadership team, emphasizing the importance of his financial and operational leadership experience in driving Nordson’s Ascend Strategy forward. Nagarajan also highlighted Hopgood’s commitment to talent development, which aligns with Nordson’s growth objectives.

Hopgood himself expressed excitement about joining Nordson and contributing to the implementation of the Ascend Strategy, aiming for continued profitable growth. He looks forward to collaborating with Nagarajan and the leadership team to achieve Nordson’s long-term strategic and financial goals.

Nagarajan also expressed gratitude to Stephen Shamrock, who served as the interim CFO, for his contributions to Nordson’s financial performance. Shamrock will continue to play a key role as Nordson’s Chief Accounting Officer, in addition to his responsibilities as Corporate Controller. Nagarajan anticipates a seamless transition with the strong financial leadership team in place.
