Accelera by Cummins, Daimler Truck, and PACCAR have completed forming their joint venture, Amplify Cell Technologies, to localize battery cell production in the U.S. This collaboration aims to advance zero-emissions technology for electric commercial vehicles and industrial applications. Amplify will begin constructing a 21-gigawatt hour (GWh) factory in Marshall County, Mississippi, expected to create over 2,000 manufacturing jobs, with production starting in 2027.
Kel Kearns has been appointed CEO of Amplify Cell Technologies. Kearns will lead the production of differentiated lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) battery cells for North American commercial vehicle customers. His extensive career in automotive and manufacturing includes a focus on large-scale EV manufacturing.
Accelera, Daimler Truck, and PACCAR each own 30% of Amplify, while EVE Energy holds 10% and provides its leading battery cell design and manufacturing expertise.

John O’Leary, President and CEO of Daimler Truck North America, emphasized the importance of cost focus and smart capital allocation for sustainable transportation, highlighting this partnership’s role in their battery industrialization strategy.
