ZwitterCo, a leader in advanced membrane technologies for water treatment, has announced the appointment of Myron Van Ert as its inaugural Chief Commercial Officer. With nearly 30 years of experience in the water industry, Van Ert most recently served as Senior Vice President of Global Key Accounts at Veolia, the world’s largest water treatment company. In his new role, Van Ert will spearhead ZwitterCo’s growth strategies across North America and globally, focusing on building partnerships and driving the commercial adoption of the company’s innovative zwitterionic membrane technology. This technology is revolutionizing the economics of treating and reusing unconventional water sources, which is increasingly critical as access to clean, naturally occurring water becomes more limited.
“We are excited to welcome Myron to ZwitterCo as our first Chief Commercial Officer,” said Alex Rappaport, Co-Founder and CEO of ZwitterCo. “His deep knowledge of the water industry, combined with his diverse experience in membranes, solutions, and services, will be crucial as we integrate our groundbreaking technology into transformative global solutions.”
Van Ert’s career in water treatment began at Osmonics, Inc., a trailblazer in membrane technology that was later acquired by GE Water & Process Technologies, Suez Water Technologies and Solutions, and ultimately Veolia Water Technologies and Solutions. Throughout these transitions, Van Ert advanced through senior roles, driving international expansion in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, and managing key account strategies for major global industrial clients. His expertise spans core water treatment processes, service offerings, and engineered systems, providing a strong foundation for ZwitterCo as it scales its operations.
“I am eager to work with industries around the world to address complex water challenges and help them achieve their sustainability goals while enhancing their economic performance,” said Van Ert. “With ZwitterCo’s innovative technology and talented team, we are poised to become a global leader in water treatment solutions.”
Van Ert’s appointment follows ZwitterCo’s successful $58.4 million Series B funding round, led by Evok Innovations with contributions from DCVC, BHP, Munich Re Ventures, Siteground, HG Ventures, and Blue Horizon Advisors. The funds will be used to accelerate the deployment of ZwitterCo’s membrane technology as the company expands internationally and enhances its technology platform.
