Surf Air Mobility and Auric Air Forge Pact to Electrify Cessna Caravan Fleet in East Africa Surf Air Mobility Inc. The agreement outlines plans to upgrade up to 12 of Auric Air’s Cessna Grand Caravan aircraft with Surf Air’s exclusive electrified powertrain technology, pending certification.
This collaboration solidifies Surf Air’s foothold in Africa, with approximately 13% of the Cessna Caravan market poised for electrified powertrain upgrades upon certification.
Surf Air is diligently developing Supplemental Type Certifications for both hybrid and fully-electric variants of the Cessna Grand Caravan. Anticipating up to 50% reductions in direct operating costs and complete elimination of carbon emissions with the fully-electric powertrain, Surf Air anticipates profound benefits for air operators worldwide.

Notably, Surf Air has recently announced similar agreements with other major Cessna Caravan operators including Safarilink, Yellow Wings, and Z.Boskovic in East Africa, as well as Azul Connecta in Brazil.
