STMicroelectronics Unveils ASM330LHBG1: Automotive Safety Solution STMicroelectronics has launched the ASM330LHBG1, a 3-axis accelerometer and 3-axis gyroscope module tailored for functional-safety applications in automotive settings. This module, accompanied by a safety-software library, offers a cost-effective solution.

AEC-Q100 Grade-1 qualified, the ASM330LHBG1 operates within the temperature range of -40°C to 125°C, suitable for various automotive applications. It boasts high accuracy and reliability, catering to systems like vehicle navigation, driver support, and automated driving.

Featuring ST’s machine-learning core and programmable finite state machine, this module can execute AI algorithms efficiently at low power. Pin-to-pin compatible with ST’s automotive IMUs, it ensures a seamless upgrade path.

Embedded temperature compensation ensures stability across diverse operating conditions, while a six-channel synchronized output enhances dead-reckoning algorithm accuracy. The module offers various interfaces and smart programmable interrupts, easing data management for host processors.

Certified software adheres to ISO26262, enabling safety-compliant redundancy with dual ASM330LHBG1 modules, supporting up to ASIL B certification. This library facilitates configuration, operation validation, and data acquisition, with error codes for fault detection.
