Hyundai Motor Group’s Executive Chair, Euisun Chung, recently journeyed to India to meticulously evaluate the Group’s future mobility strategies, pivotal for its continued dominance in the Indian market and sustainable progress. This visit also marked a significant milestone as it hosted the Group’s inaugural overseas town hall meeting, fostering direct engagement with Hyundai Motor India’s workforce.

Amidst India’s escalating strategic significance, Executive Chair Chung’s presence underscores the Group’s steadfast commitment to emerge as a premier mobility provider in the region while actively exploring emerging business prospects in the dynamic Indian market landscape. Emphasizing social responsibility, the Group is poised to integrate culturally sensitive CSR and ESG initiatives, enhancing its appeal to Indian clientele.

As Hyundai Motor India approaches its 30th anniversary in 2026, it charts its course towards 2030 under the banner of ‘Innovator in Mobility and Beyond’. Similarly, Kia India, swiftly emerging as a formidable player in the Indian automotive sector, pursues both quantitative and qualitative growth through its ‘Kia 2.0’ strategy.

A pivotal stride in Hyundai Motor Group’s regional footprint is the establishment of a robust annual production capacity of 1.5 million units for Hyundai Motor India and Kia India combined, showcasing its commitment to manufacturing excellence. Furthermore, the Group’s strategic thrust into electric vehicles (EVs) includes a widened EV portfolio and the creation of a supportive ecosystem to accelerate EV adoption, alongside bolstering its SUV market leadership and fostering culturally aligned social responsibility initiatives.

During his visit, Executive Chair Chung led comprehensive discussions on Hyundai Motor Group’s long-term strategies at the new Hyundai Motor India Headquarters in Delhi, engaging with key stakeholders. The town hall meeting, held on April 23, facilitated direct interaction with Hyundai Motor India employees, sharing the Group’s vision and fostering alignment ahead of pivotal initiatives such as the establishment of a one-million-unit annual production system and the advancement of the electrification agenda.

Accompanying Executive Chair Chung were senior Hyundai Motor executives, including Jaehoon Chang, President and CEO of Hyundai Motor Company, and Unsoo Kim, Managing Director and CEO of Hyundai Motor India, alongside 400 Hyundai Motor India employees. This landmark event marked Executive Chair Chung’s first town hall meeting held outside Korea, showcasing the Group’s commitment to direct engagement with its global workforce, following previous successful engagements in Korea.
