As artificial intelligence moves from the experimental stage to the very heart of business operations, a new reality is emerging: the large-scale deployment of AI is no longer a technological challenge, but a transformation imperative.
FPT Corporation today announced the release of a global strategic thinking study titled “From Pilot Projects to Reusable Platforms: A Roadmap for Enterprise-Wide AI.” Published on July 8, 2026, the study, commissioned by FPT and conducted by Forrester Consulting, examines how companies across all regions and sectors are advancing their AI journeys and why many are still unable to translate their initial momentum into sustainable, enterprise-wide impact.
This study is based on a global survey of 397 decision-makers in the business and technology sectors , supplemented by in-depth interviews with senior executives in North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific and Japan, in sectors such as automotive, financial services, healthcare, manufacturing, energy and sports.
Companies are accelerating the adoption of AI at scale, but the path to enterprise-wide impact remains uneven. The study reveals a consistent global trend: while 51% of organizations allocate at least 5% of their IT budget to AI, only 26% consider themselves advanced in its operational implementation . AI is primarily deployed to generate operational gains, with automation and cost reduction among the main drivers, but relatively few are rethinking their business models around AI, with only 34% adopting an AI-driven operating model .
As organizations move toward more ambitious use cases, the constraints become more structural. The study identifies integration complexity (41%) and data silos (38%) as the main barriers to AI implementation, particularly in data-intensive and operational environments. Beyond technology, only 39% of companies report significant progress in aligning their strategy, governance, and operating models, highlighting a broader mismatch between AI ambitions and organizational readiness, thus limiting the ability to deploy AI at scale in a consistent and controlled manner.
At the same time, organizations are still struggling to measure the impact of AI in a way that facilitates large-scale deployment decisions. Notably, 35% of them collect absolutely no quantified metrics , and 10% do not measure AI outcomes at all , making it difficult to identify which initiatives to expand and which to downgrade. As a result, even high-potential use cases risk remaining stuck in pilot phases due to a lack of clear pathways to enterprise-wide adoption.
In response, companies are rethinking their approach to scaling AI: no longer as isolated deployments, but as coordinated systems throughout the entire lifecycle. When selecting partners for enterprise AI, they are increasingly prioritizing the ability to design, deploy, and operate AI systems at scale throughout the entire lifecycle (48%) , supported by strong governance and security capabilities (48%) , and the ability to seamlessly integrate with existing systems (47%) .
Regional preferences reflect this trend: demand for capabilities covering the entire lifecycle is particularly strong in North America (59%) and the EMEA region (54%), while companies in the APAC region and Japan place greater emphasis on end-to-end strategic and operational support. This marks a broader shift toward partnership models that foster co-innovation and replicable implementation—a crucial step for companies looking to move beyond pilot projects and derive sustainable, enterprise-wide value from AI.
“We believe this study also builds on lessons learned from FPT’s experience over a decade of working with global clients across all industries, where we’ve seen rapid growth in AI ambitions, but where scaling remains the real challenge,” said Pham Minh Tuan, Executive Vice President of FPT Corporation and Managing Director of FPT Software . “As AI ecosystems become more complex, organizations can no longer operate in silos: they need partners who can bridge strategy, integration, governance, and operations to transform innovation into enterprise-scale, repeatable implementations. At FPT, we are committed to co-innovating with our clients at every stage of their journey, helping them deploy AI more robustly , faster , more securely , and more efficiently , ultimately building more resilient organizations ready to take the next step in AI adoption.”
FPT’s AI-first approach leverages its AI platform, FleziPT , along with a global team of over 30,000 AI-trained engineers, AI factories in Vietnam and Japan, and collaborations with global AI leaders to accelerate innovation and large-scale implementation. This enables FPT to deploy AI at scale with tailored solutions that improve speed, scalability, and traceability, resulting in up to 60% development time optimization, over 50% rework reductions, and a 30% increase in developer productivity.
The company also recently launched FPT CASAN , a comprehensive AI transformation methodology designed to help organizations move from fragmented experimentation to a scalable and tangible AI deployment. Built on a five-tier AI framework ( Curious, Augmented, Standard, Automated, and Native ), FPT CASAN provides a structured roadmap for assessing AI readiness, strengthening governance, and operationalizing AI across key business functions, thereby helping companies transform their fragmented AI efforts into AI-driven operations that deliver measurable business outcomes.
Through this study, FPT aims to foster a more collaborative and co-innovation-driven approach to AI adoption, supporting organizations at various stages of maturity to deploy AI more robustly, quickly, securely, and efficiently, thereby enabling a more resilient and future-oriented transformation.
