Daimler Truck’s newest brand, RIZON, has announced the launch of its battery-electric Class 4-5 trucks in Canada. Making its debut in the Canadian market at Truck World in Toronto from April 18th to 20th, RIZON trucks will be available for preorders starting June 2024.
Having previously introduced RIZON trucks in the U.S. at the ACT Expo in April 2023, the brand has since seen deployment on American roads for various customer needs.
Canada’s commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050 has spurred the establishment of incentive programs aimed at encouraging fleet electrification. As companies and municipalities seek sustainable fleet solutions, RIZON trucks stand to benefit from the Canadian government’s “Incentives for Medium- and Heavy-duty-Zero-Emission Vehicles” (iMHZEV) program, operational since 2022.
Andreas Deuschle, Global Head of RIZON Truck, emphasized Canada’s progressive stance on green energy and infrastructure, making it a logical next market for RIZON. He expressed enthusiasm about offering Canadian customers proven OEM trucks equipped with Daimler Truck’s cutting-edge technology, labeling RIZON as the premier Class 4-5 fully electric truck option.
In Canada, RIZON will offer four model variants – the e16L, e16M, e18L, and e18M – providing a range of configurations and options tailored to meet diverse customer needs, with gross vehicle weight (GVW) ranging from 7.25 to 8.55 tons.
