Daimler Truck AG Remains Committed to Ukraine, Donates Additional One Million Euros to Support Relief Efforts Daimler Truck AG has announced an additional one million euros in humanitarian aid for Ukraine, demonstrating its ongoing commitment to the country. This donation, split between the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and the German Red Cross (Deutsches Rotes Kreuz), reflects the company’s dedication to alleviating the suffering caused by the ongoing war.
Martin Daum, Chairman of the Board of Management at Daimler Truck AG, emphasized the significance of this support, stating, “For two years, the people in Ukraine have been suffering from the horrible consequences of the war. The need for humanitarian aid remains immense. That is why we want to help improve the situation on-site and ease the burden somewhat with our donation – and send a sign of solidarity and hope for an end to the suffering.”
The donation will be used for a variety of relief efforts, including education, medical and psychosocial assistance, and the provision of electricity and water to children and families in Ukraine. Additionally, the German Red Cross will collaborate with the Ukrainian Red Cross to provide emergency aid, disaster control, and health and social services.
Daimler Truck’s support for Ukraine began at the onset of the conflict in February 2022. Since then, the company and its employees have contributed over 4.3 million euros in financial donations, in-kind donations, and vehicles for aid convoys. These contributions were directed to UNICEF, the German Red Cross, and the World Food Programme (WFP) of the United Nations. Moreover, Daimler Truck employees facilitated the transport of approximately 3,900 tons of humanitarian aid supplies to Ukraine through more than 200 truck convoys over the past two years.
The company’s aid operations are managed by experienced employees who coordinate relief projects and transport services. These employees also oversee the deployment of volunteers across various locations, branches, and national companies of Daimler Truck.
