Barnes Aerospace, a global provider of engineering, manufacturing, and repair solutions for aerospace components, today announced the acquisition of ATL Turbine Services Ltd. (“ATL Turbine Services”), a specialist in the overhaul and repair of hot-section components for gas turbines, based in Dundee, Scotland. This marks Barnes Aerospace’s first standalone component repair and overhaul facility in Europe.
With this acquisition, Barnes Aerospace establishes its first component repair and overhaul (CRO) facility in Europe, expands the company’s aftermarket presence, and strengthens its ability to serve customers in the region. ATL Turbine Services brings proven regional repair, assessment, coating, and engineering capabilities that complement Barnes Aerospace’s existing global repair network and enhance the company’s ability to support customers throughout the entire lifecycle of turbine engine components.
“Building our component repair and overhaul presence in Europe is a key part of Barnes Aerospace’s growth strategy and enables us to provide support closer to our customers,” said Mike J. Mosley, Chief Executive Officer of Barnes Aerospace. “ATL Turbine Services brings specialized repair expertise, technical know-how, and an established presence in a strategically important market. Together, we are better positioned to address complex turbine engine challenges and deliver responsive aftermarket solutions to customers in Europe and worldwide.”
ATL Turbine Services has over 30 years of experience in the repair and reconditioning of gas turbine components. With its in-house capabilities in component evaluation, engineering, repair, and coatings, the company serves customers in the civil and military aviation sectors, as well as in the industrial and marine turbine industries. Through the acquisition of ATL Turbine Services, Barnes Aerospace gains a regional platform for serving European aftermarket customers and access to specialized component repair capabilities. The acquisition is expected to create opportunities to expand the repair offerings for existing and new customers, support the development of additional repair capacity, and strengthen coordination within Barnes Aerospace’s global aftermarket network.
“Customers are increasingly prioritizing access to high-quality repair capabilities close to their operating sites,” said John McKirdy, Senior Vice President of Strategy & Growth, Component Repair and Overhaul, Barnes Aerospace. “ATL’s presence in Scotland expands our ability to support customers in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, and adds complementary technical expertise to our global repair portfolio. This partnership allows us to build on the strengths of both companies and seize new opportunities to provide our customers with responsive, technically differentiated aftermarket solutions.”
“The merger with Barnes Aerospace marks an important new chapter for ATL Turbine Services,” said Wayne Thompson, Operations Director, ATL Turbine Services. “Our companies share a strong focus on technical expertise, quality, and responsive customer service. Combining ATL’s specialist repair and coating capabilities with Barnes Aerospace’s extensive global network opens up opportunities to expand solutions for our customers, while we continue to invest in our people and expertise in Scotland.”
The acquisition follows Barnes Aerospace’s acquisition of Jet AirWerks LLC in August 2026, which expanded the company’s capabilities in the inspection, repair, overhaul, and dismantling of commercial aircraft engines in North America. Together, these investments support Barnes Aerospace’s strategy to build a more comprehensive global aftermarket network to offer complete component lifecycle solutions closer to the customer.
