Vantage Data Centers, a prominent player in hyperscale data centers globally, has announced a significant equity infusion of $9.2 billion. This investment round is led by investment entities managed by DigitalBridge Group, Inc. (NYSE: DBRG) and Silver Lake, renowned for their expertise in digital infrastructure and technology investments respectively.
The capital raise exceeded expectations, raising $2.8 billion with participation from global investors, bringing the total investment to $9.2 billion. Combined with a €1.5 billion investment from Australian Super disclosed in September 2023, Vantage has secured approximately $11 billion in new investments over the past nine months, with over $7 billion as primary equity. The majority of these funds are earmarked to bolster Vantage’s expansion in North America and EMEA regions, enhancing its capabilities to cater to surging demands in cloud computing and AI.
Vantage currently commands a portfolio spanning more than 25 sites across North America and EMEA, with a projected capacity exceeding three gigawatts. The new investment is expected to drive an estimated $30 billion in additional development, reinforcing Vantage’s reputation for delivering top-tier capacity and innovative solutions globally. The company plans to continue developing next-generation data centers, emphasizing energy-efficient and sustainable designs tailored for AI and large-scale cloud deployments.
Sureel Choksi, President and CEO of Vantage, expressed enthusiasm about the robust investor support, highlighting the confidence placed by DigitalBridge, Silver Lake, and other investors in Vantage’s operational prowess and customer commitment. He underscored the transformative impact of this funding, positioning Vantage uniquely to capitalize on evolving AI and cloud opportunities.
Jon Mauck, senior managing director at DigitalBridge, emphasized their ongoing support for Vantage as a key infrastructure partner for leading cloud and technology platforms. He noted the investment’s role in accelerating next-generation infrastructure to bolster cloud and AI adoption.
Greg Mondre, Co-CEO and Managing Partner, and Lee Wittlinger, Managing Director of Silver Lake, echoed their confidence in Vantage’s leadership and its capability to innovate for major hyperscalers.
