Redwire Corporation (NYSE: RDW), a leading company in space infrastructure for the next generation space economy, has appointed Aaron Futch as Executive Vice President, General Counsel, and Secretary. With over 20 years of experience in the aerospace industry, Mr. Futch will oversee Redwire’s legal department and provide counsel to the Board of Directors and management on legal, regulatory, and compliance matters. His role will also involve leading negotiations for strategic transactions.
Mr. Futch joins Redwire from Virgin Galactic, where he served as Associate General Counsel, Corporate and Regulatory, and later as interim General Counsel. During his tenure, he played a pivotal role in negotiating strategic transactions and managing legal operations in support of Virgin Galactic’s mission, including the historic flight of company founder Richard Branson to space.
Previously, Mr. Futch served as Assistant General Counsel at Intelsat General Corporation, where he oversaw legal, contracts, procurement, and security functions for the largest provider of commercial satellite communications services to the U.S. government. His career also includes negotiating pioneering agreements for in-orbit servicing of commercial satellites.
Beginning his career at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison, LLP in Washington, DC, Mr. Futch advised a diverse clientele with a focus on space, telecommunications, media, and technology sectors. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of South Florida and a Juris Doctor from Duke University School of Law.
