This acknowledgment underscores Tenaris’s unwavering dedication to advancing sustainability within the global steel sector.
The Sustainability Champion program by worldsteel acknowledges steel companies that exhibit exceptional leadership in sustainability across various key performance indicators. These include material efficiency, environmental management systems, safety records, employee training, innovation in processes and products, and economic value distribution.
Guided by its industrial principles, Tenaris has embarked on a robust sustainability journey, with a firm commitment to decarbonize its operations. By 2030, the company aims to slash CO₂ emissions by 30% compared to 2018 levels. Paolo Rocca, Chairman & CEO of Tenaris, underscores this commitment, citing the successful implementation of the first wind farm in Argentina after a substantial investment of USD 200 million. Plans are underway for a similar investment to construct a second wind farm.
Aligned with its sustainability objectives, Tenaris directs approximately 30% of its capital expenditure towards projects aimed at reducing carbon emissions and achieving other environmental targets. These initiatives encompass investments in renewable energy, enhancements in energy efficiency, and improvements in air quality across its global operations.
