Daimler Buses Enhances Casablanca Transit with 40 New Mercedes-Benz CapaCity L Vehicles Daimler Buses has recently supplied Casa Transports SA in Casablanca with 40 Mercedes-Benz Capacity L buses, a significant addition to the city’s public transportation network. Operated by RATP Dev, these large-capacity buses are set to serve the inaugural routes of the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system, launched in March 2024. The BRT, featuring dedicated lanes for swift and efficient urban mobility, aims to enhance transport infrastructure while reducing CO2 emissions.
Auto Nejma, the local distributor of Daimler Buses, facilitated the procurement and delivery of these 21-meter-long articulated vehicles. Alongside Casablanca’s existing tram routes, these spacious buses, accommodating up to 177 passengers each, promise to elevate transportation services and facilitate smoother traffic flow across the metropolitan area.
The BRT system spans 24.5 kilometers with 42 stops, connecting various districts seamlessly. With frequent bus schedules, as short as 5.5 minutes during peak hours, residents can enjoy improved accessibility and reduced travel times.
Integration with the tram network ensures efficient transfers and coordinated connections, supported by an advanced ITS traffic telematics system. Passengers benefit from extensive services at stops, including staff assistance and subsidized ticket fares, promoting public transport usage.
The Mercedes-Benz CapaCity L buses boast modern amenities, including spacious interiors, comfortable seating, and accessibility features for passengers with reduced mobility. Equipped with Euro VI diesel engines for environmental sustainability, these buses offer a blend of efficiency and passenger comfort, contributing to Casablanca’s evolving transit landscape.
