XPENG Showcases AI Mobility Innovations at IAA Mobility 2025
XPENG, a leading China-based high-tech company, has unveiled its latest breakthroughs in AI-powered mobility at IAA Mobility 2025, demonstrating how the convergence of smart vehicles, autonomous driving, robotics, and flying cars is shaping the future of transportation. The European debut of the Next P7, XPENG’s groundbreaking sports sedan, highlights the company’s technological prowess, while its strategic expansion in Europe marks a significant milestone in its global growth.
The Next P7 showcases XPENG’s strengths in intelligent driving systems, AI technology, and high-performance engineering. This sports sedan is designed to combine futuristic aesthetics with supercar-level performance. Under the hood, the Next P7 delivers 593 PS, accelerates from 0–100 km/h in just 3.7 seconds, and reaches a top speed of 230 km/h. Beyond performance, the model recently set a new EV endurance benchmark, covering 3,961 km in 24 hours — a record for mass-produced electric vehicles. By introducing the Next P7 in Europe, XPENG demonstrates its ambition to redefine driving experiences, making vehicles not only powerful machines but also intelligent companions powered by AI.
Expanding the European Footprint
In September, XPENG will officially open its Munich R&D Center, the company’s first research facility in Europe. This center represents XPENG’s commitment to co-innovation with European partners and users, enabling the company to adapt its products to local preferences while fostering cutting-edge technological development. The Munich facility is XPENG’s ninth global R&D hub, joining existing centers in Silicon Valley, San Diego, Beijing, and Shanghai. By deepening its roots in Europe, XPENG aims to better serve the European market, a key region in its global growth strategy.
The company has quickly gained recognition in Europe. According to a July 2025 survey by German market research firm USCALE, XPENG became the first Chinese car brand to top the Net Promoter Score (NPS) among customers, achieving an impressive 81% score — far above the industry average. This strong customer loyalty reflects the brand’s growing influence and reputation in the mid-to-high-end BEV segment.
Full-Stack AI Driving Innovation
Central to XPENG’s strategy is its self-developed AI system, which powers every aspect of its mobility ecosystem, from autonomous vehicles to flying cars and humanoid robots. The company’s AI architecture integrates cloud computing, vehicle computing, hardware, and software, supported by advanced central computing and zonal control architectures. This synergy enables seamless hardware-software integration across vehicles, enhancing safety, performance, and user experience.
XPENG is on track to roll out mass-produced L4 autonomous vehicles by 2026, while its NGP smart driving system is undergoing global adaptation. By the fourth quarter of 2026, XPENG plans to offer top-tier autonomous driving experiences worldwide, bringing cutting-edge mobility solutions to millions of users.
Innovating Beyond Roads: Flying Cars and Humanoid Robots
XPENG’s commitment to AI mobility extends beyond traditional automobiles. Its flying car subsidiary, XPENG AEROHT, will debut the “Land Aircraft Carrier” in Dubai this October. The modular flying car has undergone 12 years of development across seven generations of prototypes and has already secured 5,000 pre-orders, with mass production planned by late 2026. The aircraft aims to become a global leader in flying vehicles, opening entirely new horizons for urban and intercity mobility.
In addition to flying cars, XPENG is pioneering AI-driven humanoid robotics. The humanoid robot IRON, developed over five years and six iterations, is set for mass production in 2026 after extensive training in industrial environments. A next-generation humanoid robot will also launch in the fourth quarter of this year, underscoring XPENG’s vision of integrating AI mobility into multiple facets of human life.
A Complete AI Mobility Ecosystem
Visitors to IAA Mobility 2025 can explore XPENG’s full range of smart vehicles, including the New G6 and G9 SUVs, the X9 MPV, and the P7+, the world’s first AI-defined vehicle. Together with the Next P7, these models reflect XPENG’s holistic approach to mobility, combining cutting-edge AI, sustainability, and high-performance engineering.
