Worthington Steel, proudly announced today that it has been named a 2025 Military Friendly® Employer by VIQTORY. Since 2003, Military Friendly® has set the benchmark for measuring organizations’ commitment and success in providing sustainable and impactful opportunities for the military community, including civilian employment, education, and entrepreneurship. Worthington Steel is among 308 employers selected for the 2025 list from over 1,200 companies.
“This recognition is especially meaningful to us as it marks our 10th consecutive year earning the Military Friendly® designation and our first since Worthington Steel became an independent public company in December 2023,” said Geoff Gilmore, President and CEO of Worthington Steel. “More importantly, it honors the true heroes—our military members and veterans—for their service to our country. Their exceptional skills and qualities contribute greatly to our success at Worthington Steel. We are steadfast in our commitment to supporting this community through internal programs, recruitment efforts, and outreach to veterans.”
Worthington Steel will be featured as a 2025 Military Friendly® Employer in the winter edition of G.I. Jobs® magazine and on www.MilitaryFriendly.com. Manufacturers were prominent on the list, making up 11% of all Military Friendly® designated employers.
“Organizations that earn the Military Friendly® Employers designation invest deeply in impactful initiatives that create life-changing opportunities for our service members, military spouses, and veterans,” said Kayla Lopez, Senior Director of Partnerships at Military Friendly®. “These employers stand out because they understand that hiring military personnel is not only a good deed, but also a smart business strategy. Their commitment to integrating military personnel into their workforce is a reflection of both compassion and business acumen.”
Companies receiving the Military Friendly® Employers designation were evaluated based on public data and a proprietary survey. The methodology, criteria, and weightings were developed by VIQTORY in collaboration with the Military Friendly® Advisory Council, which includes independent leaders in military recruitment. Final ratings combined the survey results with an assessment of each organization’s ability to meet key performance thresholds in recruitment, retention of new hires, employee turnover, and the promotion and advancement of veterans and military employees.
