Wistron Uses NVIDIA AI and Omniverse for GB200 Grace Production

Wistron Adopts NVIDIA AI and Omniverse to Accelerate GB200 Grace Blackwell Production

Wistron has announced the adoption of NVIDIA AI and Omniverse technologies to expedite the production of NVIDIA GB200 Grace Blackwell products, enhancing quality and efficiency to deliver superior value to customers. As an NVIDIA-Certified System provider, Wistron offers servers that support NVIDIA NIM inference microservices, part of the NVIDIA AI Enterprise software platform.

Innovating Next-Gen Product Testing

At NVIDIA GTC, Wistron showcased its use of NVIDIA Omniverse to create digital twins of NVIDIA DGX and HGX factories. Now, Wistron is expanding its use of Omniverse and AI to optimize a new burn-in room for rapid AI server product iterations. Using NVIDIA Modulus, Wistron has implemented a heat flow simulator to predict future production scenarios, speeding up the GB200 Grace Blackwell production line.

Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) technology is vital for improving production quality and energy efficiency. Wistron uses CFD heat flow simulation tools like OpenFOAM, accelerated by NVIDIA Modulus, to model heat convection conditions and optimize air conditioning in the new burn-in room.

In collaboration with NVIDIA, Wistron developed a heat flow simulator based on physics-informed AI, completing inferential evaluations of nearly 100 burn-in room layouts for the GB200 Grace Blackwell products in just one minute. This collaboration has drastically reduced the end-to-end workflow, enabling faster response to AI server product iterations and aligning product development with market demand.

DFM Breakthrough in Early Design

The NVIDIA GB200 Grace Blackwell accelerator requires precise assembly, particularly for three-dimensional liquid-cooling pipelines and modules. Wistron uses custom Omniverse applications to validate 3D designs of process components and fixtures early in the assembly process, minimizing interference and accelerating development. NVIDIA Isaac Sim simulates the dynamic assembly process, verifying the design rationality of fixtures, CCD, robot arms, and motion paths, thereby enhancing design quality.

Flexible Factory Management with Omniverse and Power BI

Modern factories need flexible solutions for immediate visibility into key metrics. By integrating NVIDIA Omniverse with Microsoft Power BI, Wistron provides managers with instant access to essential information, helping to identify bottlenecks and address issues promptly. Omniverse can be accessed via a web interface, allowing remote oversight of factory operations through a digital dashboard, enhancing operational efficiency and response speed.

OneAI Platform Enhances Global Production Quality

Wistron’s OneAI platform, powered by NVIDIA Metropolis vision AI technology, serves as the company’s image-based AI solution. It has been implemented in the automated optical inspection (AOI) and automated x-ray inspection (AXI) systems of over 150 workstations worldwide. With high component coverage, the platform optimizes visual inspection, helping each factory achieve zero customer complaints. This highlights Wistron’s success in digital transformation and intelligent manufacturing.

Future Collaboration and Innovation

Wistron continues to adapt to market shifts through technological innovation and digital transformation, enhancing its competitiveness. It aims to strengthen its collaboration with NVIDIA to expand the application of smart manufacturing and design using Omniverse and AI technology, striving for higher quality and efficiency.

Wistron will present a session titled “Building Future Factories with Digital Twins” at the NVIDIA AI Summit on June 5th at 9:45 am Taipei Standard time. Experts are invited to join and share insights. For more details, visit the following link: NVIDIA AI Summit.
