Waters Corporation announced the global launch of the TA Instruments™ Rapid Screening-Differential Scanning Calorimeter (RS-DSC), tailored for biopharmaceutical developers. This high-throughput DSC is designed for precise thermal stability testing of high-concentration biologic formulations, especially antibody drugs and engineered proteins.
“With rising demand for higher concentration injectable drugs, biopharmaceutical developers need fast and efficient stability testing,” said Jianqing Bennett, Senior Vice President of the TA Instruments Division at Waters Corporation. “Our new Rapid Screening-DSC provides a high-throughput alternative to existing capillary DSCs and a more reliable option compared to differential scanning fluorescence (DSF) technologies.”
The TA Instruments RS-DSC employs disposable, low sample volume microfluidic chips (MFCs), enabling up to 24 simultaneous measurements. This design reduces the need for sample dilution, repetitive instrument cleaning, and lowers contamination risk. Unlike DSF methods, the RS-DSC avoids sensitivity challenges, providing more accurate data for high-concentration samples.
Additionally, the RS-DSC features advanced automated software that delivers rapid, precise, and detailed insights into a sample’s thermodynamic properties.
The TA Instruments RS-DSC is now available globally through the TA Instruments Division of Waters Corporation.
