UL Solutions and Saudi Electricity Company Partner to Strengthen Fire and Life Safety Standards
A global leader in applied safety science, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) to collaborate on enhancing fire protection and life safety standards across Saudi Arabia. The partnership reflects a shared commitment to reducing fire risks, strengthening public safety, and aligning infrastructure development with internationally recognized safety standards.
The collaboration will focus on improving operational excellence, strengthening risk management practices, and developing specialized training programs based on UL fire and life safety standards. A key objective of the initiative is to build local technical expertise and ensure that fire protection systems and components used in SEC projects meet rigorous safety and performance requirements.
Under the agreement, UL Solutions and Saudi Electricity Company will work together on several targeted initiatives, including the delivery of customized fire safety training programs and the testing and certification of fire protection systems and equipment. These efforts are designed to enhance safety across SEC’s extensive infrastructure network and contribute to safer environments for employees, customers, and surrounding communities.
Commenting on the partnership, Todd Denison, Senior Vice President of Global Regions at UL Solutions, highlighted the importance of safety in large-scale infrastructure development. He noted that the rapid expansion and complexity of Saudi Electricity Company’s projects necessitate a strong focus on security and compliance with fire and life safety standards to protect both people and property. Denison added that the partnership represents an important step toward strengthening fire safety across critical infrastructure assets and reducing overall fire risk.
Beyond individual projects, the initiative is expected to support broader fire prevention efforts across the Kingdom’s energy sector.
