TRU Simulation + Training, a Textron company, announced today that Australia’s Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) has granted Level D certification to a new Full-Flight Simulator (FFS) delivered to the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) Queensland Section. This state-of-the-art simulator, reconfigurable for training on both the Beechcraft King Air B200 and B300 aircraft models, marks the first of its kind in Australia and is housed in a newly constructed training facility adjacent to the RFDS base in Bundaberg.
An affiliate of Textron Aviation Inc., the manufacturer of Beechcraft King Air, TRU Simulation designs, manufactures, and supplies high-fidelity training devices and full-motion simulators for civil and defense customers worldwide.

With one of the largest King Air fleets in Australia, RFDS Queensland Section uses these aircraft for critical aeromedical retrievals and healthcare services across regional, rural, and remote Queensland. The new simulator will offer RFDS pilots and crew premier training to enhance their mission of delivering exceptional care to Queensland’s most distant communities.
The King Air Full-Flight Simulator is outfitted with Collins Aerospace’s Pro Line Fusion avionics suite and TRU’s REALFeel control loading system, creating an authentic flight experience. The simulator’s full-motion capability leverages TRU’s REALCue system, which features a 60-inch-stroke actuator electric motion base. An immersive training environment is further supported by high-definition projectors and a 200×40-degree display, while TRU’s in-house developed aircraft systems and aerodynamics software enhance realism across all four King Air variants available on the FFS.
