Three additional Lubrizol Engineered Polymers sites achieved ISCC PLUS certification

Lubrizol Advanced Materials announced that three additional Lubrizol Engineered Polymers sites achieved International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) PLUS late last year.

ISCC PLUS is an international sustainability certification for industrial applications, a standard for fully traceable sustainable supply chains that allows companies to track and allocate environmentally friendly raw materials throughout the value chain, through transparent recording and without changing the production process.

The three sites that have achieved this highly regarded third-party qualification, ISCC PLUS certification, are the Lubrizol Advanced Materials headquarters in Brecksville and the production facilities in Avon Lake, Ohio, USA, and Oevel, in Belgium.

As part of Lubrizol’s commitment to sustainability and the expansion of ESTANE ® TPU sustainable solutions, these certifications follow the ISCC PLUS certification achieved last year by Lubrizol’s factory in Songjiang, China. China. Our sustainable solutions can be used in different sectors, including footwear, electronics, and industrial applications.

“ ISCC PLUS allows a completely transparent approach to the biomass balance and leads to the reduction of the carbon footprint of our final product. This builds on the launch of our ESTANE RNW TPU solutions that reduce the carbon footprint of the product with existing equipment used by our customers, without changing the production process or final material properties,” says Jesús Santamaria, Director of global sales representative for sustainable development at Lubrizol Engineered Polymers.

“ Achieving ISCC PLUS certification is an important step in ensuring that Lubrizol has a single, consistent, company-wide process for tracking materials. As we increase our use of bio-based* and renewable materials, Lubrizol customers are even more confident in our ability to credibly trace these materials throughout our manufacturing process,” says Elizabeth Grove, Director of Sustainability from The Lubrizol Corporation.

Expanding the use of alternative raw materials using the mass balance approach while adopting this ISCC PLUS external verification system as a key monitoring element will support the acceleration of Lubrizol’s global sustainability journey. We collaborate with our partners and create alliances to develop solutions that have a positive impact on the environment and society and that exceed the footprint necessary for their production.
