
Tageos and Wiliot Collaborate to Advance Battery-Free BLE Sensing for Ambient IoT
Tageos, a global leader in RFID and wireless IoT inlays and tags, has announced a strategic partnership with ambient IoT innovator Wiliot. The first outcome of this collaboration is the launch of the EOS-654 BLE G3, a new passive Bluetooth® Low Energy (BLE) inlay designed to meet the growing demand for real-time location and condition monitoring in retail and logistics supply chains. This inlay supports the deployment of Wiliot’s Gen3 IoT Pixel sensor and integrates with the Wiliot Intelligence Platform
Advanced Inlay Technology
The EOS-654 BLE G3 is built on a sophisticated dual-band architecture operating at 2.4 GHz and sub-1 GHz frequencies, delivering extended read range, reliable connectivity, and consistent performance across complex operational environments. Designed to perform seamlessly in distribution centers, trailers, retail storage areas, and sales floors, the inlay supports dependable data capture even in high-density or RF-challenged settings. Supplied as a dry inlay, it offers flexibility for integration and can be easily converted into a Wiliot Gen3 IoT Pixel sensor, enabling scalable deployment across large item volumes.
Battery-Free IoT Sensing
The Gen3 IoT Pixel sensor eliminates the need for batteries by harvesting ambient energy, significantly reducing maintenance costs and environmental impact. Leveraging cost-effective Bluetooth reader infrastructure, the sensor transmits continuous item-level data to the Wiliot Intelligence Platform. Advanced analytics transform real-time inputs—such as location, temperature, humidity, light exposure, dwell time, and movement—into actionable insights, powering physical AI use cases including automated cycle counting, shipment verification, reusable asset tracking, and end-to-end condition monitoring.

Innovation and Manufacturing Excellence
The EOS-654 BLE G3 was co-developed at Tageos’ Innovation Center of Excellence (ICoE) in Munich, which opened in April 2025. The ICoE focuses on advanced antenna design, battery-free and battery-powered BLE sensors, and integrating multiple components into roll-to-roll inlay manufacturing. Following development and validation, the product can be industrialized across Tageos’ global network, which has an annual production capacity of 12 billion units across facilities in France, the United States, and China.
