Supplier Summit 2024: Daimler Truck Engages with Suppliers and Strategic Partners

As part of the Supplier Summit 2024, Daimler Truck hosted approximately 200 suppliers at the Industry Information Center in Wörth am Rhein on July 17, 2024, under the motto “Empowering Tomorrow – Together Today.” The event aimed to provide suppliers with insights into Daimler Truck’s corporate strategy and future technological advancements. Additionally, seven suppliers were honored with the Daimler Truck Supplier Award, two of which were recognized for their exceptional commitment to sustainability. The winners were selected based on their outstanding performance and strong partnership-based cooperation.

Andreas Gorbach, Member of the Board of Management of Daimler Truck Holding AG, responsible for Truck Technology, stated: “Our industry is facing significant challenges as we move towards decarbonization and digitalization. However, at Daimler Truck, we see this as a tremendous opportunity — and we want to capitalize on it. Strong, reliable, and long-term partnerships with our suppliers are more crucial than ever. Together, we are making diesel drives more efficient and clean while accelerating the development of zero-emission drives and enhancing vehicle intelligence with electronics and software. We are proud and grateful to work with such strong partners because we can only shape the future together.”

Dr. Marcus Schoenenberg, Head of Global Procurement & Supplier Management at Daimler Truck, added: “We aim to lead the way in sustainable transport. To achieve this, we need suppliers who share our vision, contribute their ideas, and find us to be a reliable and strong partner. That’s the message we want to convey at the Supplier Summit.”

During five workshops and a panel discussion, Daimler Truck engaged in professional dialogue with its partners on topics such as autonomous driving, sustainability in the supply chain, and macroeconomic developments. Suppliers also had the opportunity to experience Daimler Truck’s latest products and innovations through driving experiences and product exhibitions. This allowed Daimler Truck to offer its suppliers a behind-the-scenes look and promote further exchange of ideas.

“The global supplier network significantly contributes to the added value of our products and is vital for customer satisfaction and the sustainable transformation of the commercial vehicle industry. Now, it is essential to continue delivering proven and highly efficient trucks and buses in top quality while convincing our customers of new emission-free drive technologies. Besides safety and driving comfort, quality and economy are paramount. We can only achieve this with committed and strong suppliers by our side. We thank our reliable partners for this,” said Dr. Marcus Schoenenberg.
