The Supervisory Board of Daimler Truck Holding AG has appointed Karin Rådström as the new CEO, effective October 1, 2024, with her term lasting until January 31, 2029. She will take over from Martin Daum, who will step down as CEO but stay on the Board of Management until the end of 2024 to ensure a smooth transition.
Joe Kaeser, Chairman of the Supervisory Board, expressed gratitude for Daum’s nearly four decades of service, highlighting his leadership during Daimler Truck’s transition to a DAX-listed company and his role in its economic success. Kaeser praised Daum’s dedication and contribution to shaping the company’s global reputation.
Daum, who began his career at Daimler-Benz AG in 1987, significantly grew the North American segment and increased revenues and margins as part of the Board of Management for Trucks and Buses since 2017. Under his leadership, Daimler Truck advanced its technological transformation, including battery electric and hydrogen-powered drivetrains.
Karin Rådström, who joined the Board of Management in 2021, has successfully led Mercedes-Benz Trucks, boosting profitability and sustainability efforts. She introduced new electric trucks and enhanced customer satisfaction with her focus on innovation and service. Prior to Daimler Truck, Rådström held senior roles at Scania, including overseeing Sales & Marketing.
Kaeser expressed confidence in Rådström’s leadership, emphasizing her industry knowledge and ability to navigate challenges while fostering empowerment, diversity, and customer focus. Michael Brecht, Vice Chairman of the Supervisory Board, praised Rådström’s collaboration with labor representatives and stressed the importance of balancing employee and shareholder interests.
For now, Rådström will continue to oversee Mercedes-Benz Trucks until her successor is named. The supervisory board’s decisions apply equally to Daimler Truck Holding AG and Daimler Truck AG.
