Saudia Group Expands Fleet with 105 A320neo Family Aircraft Saudia Group, represented by its flagship carrier Saudia and low-cost subsidiary flyadeal, has finalized a firm order for an additional 105 A320neo Family aircraft. The order encompasses 12 A320neo and 93 A321neo aircraft, bolstering Saudia Group’s Airbus aircraft order backlog to 144 A320neo family aircraft.
The agreement was unveiled at the Future Aviation Forum in Riyadh, attended by prominent figures including H.E. Saleh bin Nasser AIJasser, Minister of Transport and Logistic Services of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, H.E. Engr. Ibrahim Al-Omar, Director General of Saudia Group, and Benoît de Saint-Exupéry, Executive Vice President Sales of the Commercial Aircraft business.
Highlighting the significance of the deal, H.E. Engr. Ibrahim Al-Omar emphasized Saudia’s commitment to meeting escalating demand by expanding flight routes and seat capacity across over 100 destinations worldwide. He attributed the decision to secure the deal to the surge in visits, tourism, entrepreneurship, and pilgrimage facilitated by Saudi Vision 2030, foreseeing job creation, enhanced local content, and economic contribution as direct outcomes.
Benoît de Saint-Exupéry, Executive Vice President Sales of the Commercial Aircraft business, underscored the pivotal role of the new A320neo family additions in advancing Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 objectives. He outlined the aircraft’s contribution to Saudia Group’s strategy, enhancing the Kingdom’s aviation capabilities through improved efficiency, economics, passenger comfort, and reduced fuel consumption and emissions.
Aligned with Saudi Arabia’s ambitious tourism targets outlined in the Saudi National Tourism Strategy, the Airbus order is poised to fortify the Kingdom’s aspiration of becoming a premier global tourism hub.
