Salinas Honda Donates 2024 Civic, Raises $52,000 for Relay For Life® of Salinas Valley

Salinas Honda, part of Northern California’s Del Grande Dealer Group (DGDG), recently presented breast cancer survivor Ernestina Valdes with a 2024 Honda Civic Sport Sedan. Valdes, who won the car in a charity raffle, purchased her ticket from her cousin Lupe Brambila, also a cancer survivor and dedicated American Cancer Society volunteer. Both women are committed supporters of the cause.

Valdes joined thousands in buying raffle tickets to support Relay For Life® of Salinas Valley, a signature fundraiser where Salinas Honda has donated a car for 23 years. This year’s raffle raised $52,000, contributing to the event’s overall success of $554,000 in funds for cancer research and support.

“This car is a wonderful surprise,” Valdes shared. “But being part of an organization making a real difference for survivors like me is what truly matters.”

Salinas’s Relay For Life® began in 1997, introduced by former Salinas Honda owner Sam Linder. Since then, the event has raised $17.5 million for the American Cancer Society. “Giving back is at our core,” said DGDG CEO Jeremy Beaver. “Our Salinas Honda team, led by General Manager Al Feria, continues this legacy with dedication.”

Through DGDG Does Good, the company supports causes nationwide, with over $1 million donated to date.
