Rocky Mountain PBS Spotlights Spartan College Aviation Training in Work, Learn, Earn Initiative

Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology in Broomfield, CO, proudly supports the Rocky Mountain PBS (RMPBS) Work, Learn, Earn initiative as the dedicated Aviation Technology training partner. This initiative serves as a resource hub, connecting the Denver community with training pathways and career resources across various fields. The hub offers essential information on job training, career development, and the educational or certification requirements needed to pursue specific careers. It also features RMPBS-produced content, providing a behind-the-scenes look at different professions through “A Day in the Life” segments featuring local companies.

Dan Diamond, Senior Vice President of Public Media Partnerships for Rocky Mountain Public Media, emphasized the initiative’s focus on connecting Colorado communities with career resources and opportunities by showcasing real-life career experiences. He hopes that sharing the journeys of Coloradans in their careers will inspire others to see themselves in a meaningful career path, whether they are just starting out or transitioning to a new chapter.

Spartan College, with over 95 years of aviation education experience, has become a key institution for aviation training in the Denver area. With campuses in Denver, Tulsa, Los Angeles, and the Inland Empire, Spartan has trained over 100,000 flight and technician students from all 50 states and more than 40 countries.

Brittany Felix, a 2023 graduate of Spartan’s Aviation Electronics Technology program and now a Satellite Technician at York Space Systems, shared her experience. “I discovered Spartan while researching tech companies in Denver and looking for educational opportunities. The community at Spartan felt very welcoming, and it was encouraging to be surrounded by students with similar interests. Spartan changed my life, and it’s exciting to see training opportunities that can shape a promising future.”

Spartan and RMPBS are excited to invite the community to an in-person Aviation Tech Discovery Expo event on September 12 at the Rocky Mountain PBS Buell Public Media Center. The event will feature aviation technology exploration, an industry panel discussion with guests from York Space Systems, Lockheed Martin, and Panasonic Avionics Corporation, and will be moderated by Nick Brown, Chief Academic and Operations Officer for Spartan College. Attendees will gain insights into the daily life of an aviation technician and have the opportunity to interact with experts and ask questions about a career in aviation technology.

Aviation Technology is a high-demand career path in Colorado, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology offers the necessary training for entry-level jobs in Aviation Maintenance Technology.
