Rocket Lab, a global leader in launch services and space systems, has just added a last-minute Electron launch to its 2024 launch manifest. The mission, named “Changes In Latitudes, Changes In Attitudes,” is scheduled for liftoff in just three days.
The launch will take place at Rocket Lab Launch Complex 1, with a window opening on October 19th for a confidential commercial client. This expedited mission marks Rocket Lab’s quickest turnaround to date, with less than two months from contract signing to launch.
Key to this mission is Rocket Lab’s rapid launch capability, including the streamlined production of Electron vehicles that enables swift assignment of payloads for on-demand launches. Coupled with responsive launch sites and an experienced team behind the second most frequently launched U.S. orbital rocket, these factors contribute significantly to the mission’s success.
This mission will be Rocket Lab’s twelfth launch of 2024, further extending the company’s record number of annual Electron launches since it began providing orbital launch services in 2018. The company has seen a 100% increase in its Electron launch rate during the first half of this year compared to the same period in 2023, effectively doubling its rocket production and launch cadence in just a year. This increased activity reinforces the Electron’s reputation as a reliable and sought-after option for commercial satellite customers worldwide.
