Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 Gains Momentum Across Europe as Fleets Embrace Zero-Emission Long-Haul Transport
The battery-electric Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 is rapidly making its presence felt on Europe’s roads. Over the past several months, the company’s electric flagship has been delivered to customers in more than 15 European countries, including Germany, Norway, Italy, France, and Romania. Designed for versatility, the eActros 600 is already proving its capabilities in a wide range of logistics applications — from classic long-distance haulage to highly specialized transport assignments.
This rapid adoption has also been reflected in the market rankings. In the second quarter of 2025, Mercedes-Benz Trucks secured the leading position in Europe’s zero-emission heavy-duty vehicle segment, demonstrating the growing demand for electric mobility in freight transport.
Customer Success Stories Across Europe
Germany – Logistik Schmitt
Logistik Schmitt, a long-time partner of Mercedes-Benz Trucks, has been operating battery-electric trucks from the brand for several years, often participating in prototype and pre-series trials. In July 2025, the company expanded its fleet with the first five of a planned 23 eActros 600 trucks. These vehicles are enabling the company to extend its electrified operations to international long-distance transport routes.
Netherlands – Simon Loos
In the Netherlands, leading freight forwarder Simon Loos began operating its first two eActros 600 trucks in July, delivering goods for the discount retailer Lidl. The company had previously deployed eActros 300 models for routes of up to 300 kilometers. With the eActros 600’s extended range of up to 500 kilometers, Simon Loos can now include long-haul assignments in its electric operations for the first time.
Belgium – VM-Milktrans
In Belgium, milk collection logistics specialist VM-Milktrans, together with its sister company Sovedo Logistics, took delivery of the first two of six planned eActros 600 trucks in July. This marks the first deployment of the electric flagship in Belgium, signaling a shift toward cleaner transport solutions in the country’s dairy supply chain.
Austria – Friedl
Family-owned transport company Friedl, recognized for its innovative approach to refrigerated logistics, added its first eActros 600 to its fleet in July. The vehicle is being used for long-distance temperature-controlled deliveries. Friedl had already tested the truck during its development phase, reflecting the company’s forward-looking stance on sustainable logistics.
France – Transports Derocq
In northern France, refrigerated transport specialist Transports Derocq welcomed its first eActros 600 in July. The family-run firm views the move as a milestone in its shift toward sustainable mobility.
United Kingdom – HIVED
UK-based parcel delivery company HIVED, known for its fully electric fleet, added two eActros 600 trucks in July as part of a larger nine-vehicle order. These trucks are now in use across the company’s medium-range delivery network nationwide.
Switzerland – Emmi Group
The Emmi Group, Switzerland’s leading dairy processor with an international presence, deployed its first fully electric eActros 600 in June, further integrating sustainable transport into its operations.
Italy – BRIGO – Breathe New Energy
In Italy, sustainable transport pioneer BRIGO expanded its fleet in June with five new Mercedes-Benz electric trucks — three eActros 600 and two eActros 300 models. The handover coincided with the opening of Milence’s first high-power charging hub in the country, part of a joint initiative by Daimler Truck, the TRATON GROUP, and Volvo Group to install 1,700 public charging points across Europe by 2027.
About the eActros 600
Mercedes-Benz Trucks officially launched the eActros 600 series at its Wörth plant in November 2024, with customer deliveries beginning the following month. The vehicle has since undergone extensive real-world trials, including the “eActros 600 European Testing Tour 2024,” covering 15,000 kilometers across 22 countries, and the “European Testing Tour Winter 2025,” spanning 6,500 kilometers through Northern Europe — both with a 40-ton gross combination mass.
The truck’s industry impact has been recognized with the prestigious “International Truck of the Year 2025” award, presented by a panel of 24 leading commercial vehicle journalists from across Europe.
Technical Highlights
The eActros 600 derives its name from its battery capacity — over 600 kWh — delivered by three battery packs of 207 kWh each. Based on lithium iron phosphate (LFP) technology, these batteries offer a long service life and enable a practical range of 500 kilometers without intermediate charging, even at maximum payload. Under optimal conditions and with charging during mandated driver breaks, the truck can exceed 1,000 kilometers per day.
The eActros 600 is engineered for durability equivalent to a conventional diesel-powered Actros, with an expected lifespan of up to 1.2 million kilometers over ten years. Even after that period, battery health is expected to remain above 80 percent.
Technically, the eActros 600 can handle a gross combination mass of up to 44 tons and, with a standard EU semitrailer, offers a payload of around 22 tons, subject to local legal allowances.
With its growing adoption across diverse sectors and countries, the Mercedes-Benz eActros 600 is proving that zero-emission heavy-duty transport is not just possible — it is already becoming the new standard in European logistics.
