The demand for flat poly mailers, favored by couriers and e-commerce companies for their protective qualities and convenience, is set to increase significantly with the introduction of PAC Worldwide Corporation’s latest innovation: poly mailers made entirely from recycled materials. These new mailers are available in two forms: 100% post-consumer resin (PCR) certified to the Recycled Claim Standard (RCS), and 100% post-industrial recycled (PIR) content. The Polyjacket® line will be unveiled at PACK EXPO in Chicago, catering to the sustainability goals of environmentally conscious brands. This certification provides independent verification for stakeholders concerned about potential “greenwashing” practices.
The 100% recyclable Polyjacket mailers maintain the same strength and quality as PAC’s traditional poly mailers, with options for custom printing and a dual peel-n-seal feature.
These new mailers represent the latest advancement in PAC’s expanding portfolio of sustainable poly products, which includes options ranging from a stock Polyjacket program with 50% recycled content to those with a full 100%. PAC also offers the Airjacket® bubble mailer and WicketPAC® wicketed poly mailers, both available with 50% recycled content.
In addition to the recycled poly mailers, PAC provides a variety of paper mailer products, allowing shippers to choose more environmentally responsible solutions. This lineup includes the Ecojacket® Flex, a patent-pending padded paper mailer that is curbside recyclable and has received an “Optimally Recyclable” rating from How2Recycle, the highest accolade from the industry group. The recently launched Ecojacket® Max, a larger single-faced gusseted version, further enhances this offering. This expansion aligns with PAC’s broader strategy to help brands explore innovative ways to meet their sustainability objectives.
PAC Worldwide President Thomas Parenteau stated, “There are multiple ways to approach and create a sustainable future for our planet. These innovative products reflect PAC’s commitment to making all our industry-leading flexible packaging recyclable, reusable, or compostable by 2025. I am proud to say we are making significant progress.
