Over 800 Chinese Textile and Clothing Manufacturers Showcase at Paris Trade Fair in Porte de Versailles

The 29th China Textile and Apparel Trade Fair Paris (CTAF) and Texworld Apparel Sourcing Paris concluded successfully on July 3 at Paris Expo, Porte de Versailles. Founded in 2007, CTAF is a collaborative effort between Messe Frankfurt France and the China Textile Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCPIT TEX). The fair serves as a vital platform for trade, information exchange, and dialogue, while strengthening the textile and apparel supply chain across China, Europe, and beyond.

In 2024, China and France are celebrating 60 years of diplomatic relations, marking a promising future for cooperation in the textile, clothing, and fashion industries. To commemorate this milestone, a grand opening ceremony was held on the first day of the expo. Key figures at the event included Mr. Xu Yingxin, Vice Chairman of the China National Council for Textile and Apparel and Chairman of CCPIT TEX; Mr. Wang Deyang, Deputy Director General of the Trade Development Bureau of the Ministry of Commerce; Ms. Chang Qing, Vice President of CCPIT TEX; Mr. Li Wenguo, Chief Representative of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade in Paris; Mr. Detlaf Braun, Board Member of Messe Frankfurt Exhibition GmbH; Mr. Olaf Smith, Vice President of Textile and Textile Technology Exhibition at Messe Frankfurt Exhibition GmbH; Mr. Frédéric Bourgeard, President of Messe Frankfurt France; and Ms. Wen Ting, General Manager of Messe Frankfurt (Hong Kong). They officially opened the expo with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The event saw participation from nearly 1,200 exhibitors across 26 countries and regions, including over 800 Chinese garment and fabric enterprises. The Chinese presence was the largest in scale and influence, showcasing advancements in technology, low-carbon and green practices, intelligent manufacturing, brand development, and flexible supply chains.

This year’s exhibition featured a significant number of independent Chinese clothing brands, underscoring the fair’s role in promoting these brands since 2017.

The TANGY sustainable fashion collection show, supported by CCPIT TEX and Messe Frankfurt France, presented China’s intangible cultural heritage and sustainable textiles to the Parisian fashion industry at the Guimet Museum of Asian Arts in Paris. Celebrating TANGY’s 30th anniversary, Liangzi, an eco-friendly ambassador acclaimed by Harper’s Bazaar, held a fashion show honoring the 60th anniversary of China-France diplomatic relations, receiving acclaim from both nations.
