Nordson Corporation announced today that Maria Spangler will assume the role of Director, Nordson Foundation and Community Relations, effective December 2, 2024. She will succeed Cecilia Render, who is set to retire on December 31, 2024. During the transitional period, Spangler will work closely with Render to ensure a seamless handover.
Spangler brings over 15 years of expertise in program development, growth, and impact measurement. Since joining Sherwin-Williams (NYSE: SHW) in 2007, a $23 billion global leader in paints and coatings, she has held increasingly senior roles. Most recently, she served as Director of Community Engagement, where she developed and implemented a community engagement strategy, managed impactful investments through the Sherwin-Williams Foundation, and built a robust corporate giving program.
I am excited to welcome Maria to Nordson as the leader of our Nordson Impact philanthropy team,” said Sundaram Nagarajan, President and CEO of Nordson. “Community investment is a core value at Nordson, and Maria’s proven track record of fostering strong nonprofit partnerships and engaging teams worldwide will help us continue this legacy.
Spangler expressed enthusiasm for her new role: “I have long admired Nordson’s commitment to giving and the reputation Cecilia Render has built through Nordson Impact. Joining this incredible team is a dream come true. I look forward to collaborating with Naga and the leadership team to advance the Company’s philanthropic goals and empower employees to make a meaningful difference in their communities.”
Nagarajan also acknowledged Render’s contributions, stating, “I want to thank Cecilia for her 25 years of exceptional service. Her dedication has profoundly impacted our Company and the communities we serve. I wish her all the best in her next chapter.”
