Nissan Canada Brings Innovation and Performance to the 2025 Canadian International Auto Show

Nissan Canada is celebrating a significant milestone in 2025—its 60th anniversary in the country. To mark the occasion, the company is bringing an exciting lineup of vehicles and special project builds to the 2025 Canadian International Auto Show (CIAS). From February 14 to 23, auto enthusiasts will get a firsthand look at Nissan’s latest innovations, including two custom-built project vehicles and three all-new 2025 models: the Nissan Kicks, Murano, and Armada. Additionally, visitors will have the chance to experience the all-electric Nissan ARIYA firsthand at the show’s indoor EV Test Track.

Nissan’s Commitment to Innovation and Excitement

For six decades, Nissan has been a prominent player in the Canadian automotive market, consistently pushing boundaries in design, technology, and performance. This year’s CIAS is a testament to that legacy, showcasing the brand’s continued commitment to delivering innovative and exciting vehicles tailored for Canadian drivers.

“We are thrilled to be part of the 2025 Canadian International Auto Show, especially as we celebrate Nissan’s 60th anniversary in Canada. This milestone is a testament to our long-standing commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction. At this year’s show, we are excited to showcase two project vehicles derived from the Nissan Frontier, which highlight just how versatile our offerings are.

We are also displaying three all-new models: the Nissan Kicks, Murano, and Armada. These vehicles, along with our full lineup, reflect our dedication to offering a diverse range of features and options tailored to the Canadian market. We look forward to engaging with families and enthusiasts and sharing our vision,” said Brent Smith, director of marketing at Nissan Canada Inc.

Project Trailgater: The Ultimate Tailgating Experience

For adventure seekers and outdoor enthusiasts, Nissan’s Project Trailgater is a dream come true. Built in collaboration with PowerNation TV’s “Music City Trucks,” this custom-built 2025 Nissan Frontier PRO-4X takes tailgating and off-road adventures to an entirely new level.

The vehicle is equipped with a variety of NISMO Off Road accessories designed to enhance its rugged capability. A lift kit and high-performance suspension system provide improved off-road performance, while a sturdy bed rack and cargo cases offer additional storage solutions. Powerful off-road lighting and 17-inch beadlock-capable wheels further enhance the truck’s ability to tackle tough terrains.

But what sets Project Trailgater apart is its focus on outdoor entertainment. The vehicle features two 43-inch weatherproof TVs, powered coolers to keep drinks and food fresh, and a fully functional grill—perfect for game-day celebrations or camping trips. As if that weren’t enough, it even includes a kitchen sink, ensuring that adventurers have all the comforts of home while exploring the great outdoors.

A three-part video series documenting the build process of Project Trailgater is available on the PowerNation channel, allowing fans to witness its transformation from concept to reality.

Frontier TARMAC Concept: A High-Performance Street Truck

For those who appreciate speed, style, and muscle, the Frontier TARMAC Concept is a showstopper. Inspired by classic sport and muscle trucks of the past, this one-of-a-kind street truck is the result of a collaboration between Nissan Motorsports, Nissan Design America, and Forsberg Racing.

At first glance, the TARMAC Concept commands attention with its striking Afterburn Orange paint, a bold new color for 2025. The truck is adorned with carbon fiber accents, including a widebody kit, vented hood, roof cap, spoiler, wheels, and other aerodynamic enhancements.

Under the hood, the Frontier TARMAC Concept delivers a powerful performance upgrade. A Roots-style supercharger, prototype NISMO cold air intake, and a custom NISMO exhaust system work together to push the standard 3.8-liter V6 engine beyond 400 horsepower, making this truck a true force to be reckoned with on the streets.

To handle its increased power, the truck is outfitted with a high-performance braking system featuring custom 15-inch floating two-piece rotors and mounts, using the powerful brake calipers from the Nissan Z NISMO. The vehicle’s stance is further optimized with carbon-barreled NISMO TARMAC 20-inch wheels wrapped in high-performance Yokohama Advan tires. A prototype NISMO high-performance suspension kit with adjustable coilovers ensures that the truck remains planted on the road, delivering precision handling and responsiveness.

Enthusiasts can find more details about the build and a complete list of parts in Nissan’s full release.
