Daimler Buses has secured a significant order from Poland as Sindbad, one of the country’s largest bus companies, takes delivery of 22 new Setra and Mercedes-Benz coaches. The purchase includes twelve Setra vehicles, featuring six S 531 DT double-decker coaches, and ten Mercedes-Benz Tourismo coaches, a long-time favorite in Poland’s touring coach market.
Mirko Sgodda, Head of Marketing, Sales, and Customer Services at Daimler Buses, officially handed over the symbolic key to Ryszard Wójcik, Managing Director of Sindbad sp. z o. o., during the ceremony. Sgodda highlighted the strong 30-year partnership between Sindbad and the Setra and Mercedes-Benz brands, praising the company’s commitment to quality and its role in setting high standards for bus and coach transportation across Poland and Europe.
The new coaches are equipped with Euro VI engines and cutting-edge safety systems, including the Active Drive Assist ADA 2, exclusive to Setra coaches. Additional features include 230V+USB sockets and Wi-Fi, both of which have become standard in Sindbad’s fleet.
Sindbad, based in Opole, operates a fleet of over 120 buses and coaches, including 101 Setra and 19 Mercedes-Benz vehicles. The company employs nearly 500 people and provides international coach services, as well as travel, school transportation, excursions, and business travel. Sindbad is also in the process of establishing a modern service center authorized to service Mercedes-Benz and Setra buses.
