Jabil, a global leader in design, manufacturing, and supply chain solutions, has announced the successful acquisition of Mikros Technologies LLC, a prominent engineering and manufacturing firm specializing in liquid cooling solutions for thermal management. The acquisition was finalized on October 1.
As industries such as artificial intelligence, energy storage, and electric vehicles continue to adopt higher-power density systems, liquid cooling is emerging as a more energy-efficient alternative to air cooling. This acquisition strengthens Jabil’s ability to support its customers in managing the demanding thermal requirements of current and next-generation products, while maintaining a focus on sustainability and cost efficiency.
“We are excited to welcome Mikros Technologies to the Jabil family,” said Ed Bailey, Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer. “Their expertise in thermal management will expand the range of services we offer to cloud service providers, hardware OEMs, and liquid cooling solutions providers. Beyond the data center ecosystem, we see opportunities in other markets that require advanced thermal management, including semiconductor testing, batteries, energy storage systems, and electric vehicles.”
For over 30 years, Mikros Technologies has developed innovative microchannel liquid cooling solutions, addressing complex thermal challenges. Their proprietary microchannel cold plate designs significantly improve energy efficiency by cooling over one kilowatt per square centimeter. Mikros’ cutting-edge technology will complement Jabil’s broad portfolio of data center lifecycle solutions, semiconductor test equipment, and energy and transportation solutions.
“Joining Jabil marks an exciting new chapter for Mikros Technologies,” said Drew Matter, CEO of Mikros Technologies. “We are eager to scale our liquid cooling solutions to meet the thermal demands of the world’s leading brands, while collaborating with a team we respect and enjoy working alongside.”
