Italian Pump Maker Joins Atlas Copco Group

Atlas Copco to Acquire Italian Pump Manufacturer CRI-MAN S.p.A., Strengthening its Presence in the Biogas and Wastewater Sectors

Atlas Copco Group has announced that it will acquire CRI-MAN S.p.A., a well-established Italian manufacturer specializing in pumps, separators, and mixers. The move is aimed at expanding Atlas Copco’s footprint in the biogas and wastewater treatment industries and enhancing its industrial pump offerings.

Founded in 2000 and headquartered in Correggio, Italy, CRI-MAN has built a strong reputation over the years as a trusted supplier of robust, high-performance equipment. The company focuses on providing technological solutions such as chopper pumps, separators, and mixers that are used primarily for handling slurry and facilitating anaerobic digestion in biogas facilities, as well as treating domestic and industrial wastewater. CRI-MAN’s core clientele includes companies operating in the biogas, agricultural, and wastewater treatment sectors—industries that are seeing increased investments worldwide as environmental regulations tighten and sustainability goals become more urgent.

The acquisition will involve the integration of approximately 85 CRI-MAN employees into Atlas Copco Group, reflecting a significant step toward bolstering the Group’s human and technical capabilities in the fluid management sector. These employees will become part of the Industrial Flow division, which sits within Atlas Copco’s Power Technique business area.

Andrew Walker, Business Area President of Power Technique at Atlas Copco, welcomed the development, saying, “We are very pleased to welcome CRI-MAN to Atlas Copco Group. With this acquisition, we are further adding complementary technology to our existing industrial pump portfolio, which will benefit our current customers and provide additional opportunities for growth.”

Although financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed, CRI-MAN reported revenues of approximately 30 million euros (equivalent to 342 million Swedish kronor) in 2024. This indicates the significance of the acquisition from both a strategic and financial perspective. By acquiring CRI-MAN, Atlas Copco is tapping into a specialized market niche that aligns well with the global shift toward more efficient and environmentally friendly waste treatment processes.

The completion of the transaction is still subject to regulatory approvals and is expected to be finalized during the fourth quarter of 2025. Once closed, CRI-MAN will officially operate under the umbrella of the Atlas Copco Group, specifically within the Power Technique segment, enhancing the group’s technological offerings and market reach.

This strategic move reflects Atlas Copco’s broader commitment to investing in businesses that contribute to cleaner and more sustainable industrial operations. The acquisition of CRI-MAN adds not just new products but also deep industry expertise and established customer relationships in high-growth sectors like biogas and wastewater treatment.

The deal marks another chapter in Atlas Copco’s ongoing effort to strengthen its portfolio through targeted acquisitions that align with its long-term goals. It is expected that the integration of CRI-MAN’s product lines and technical knowledge will accelerate the development of innovative pumping solutions tailored for industries under increasing pressure to meet environmental standards.

By bringing CRI-MAN into its fold, Atlas Copco continues to build on its strategy of delivering high-value, environmentally conscious technologies to a global customer base, further reinforcing its position as a leading industrial solutions provider.
