In a major step towards sustainability, Seda North America is introducing its compostable Double Wall cold cups and the innovative paper EcoFit lid to the North American market. Designed to meet evolving environmental regulations, these products offer a cutting-edge solution for businesses adapting to new packaging standards.
The Double Wall cold cups, made from BPI-certified renewable materials, are engineered for an enhanced drinking experience. Their patented air gap design keeps beverages colder for longer and minimizes condensation, offering a superior alternative to traditional single wall cups. Consumers can enjoy their drinks without the hassle of a sweating, slippery cup, ensuring a consistent and satisfying experience.
This new cold cup design complements Seda’s existing Double Wall hot beverage cups, which were introduced to the U.S. market in the early 2010s. This innovation provides an effective alternative to insulated foam cups, aligning with current legislative requirements.
The EcoFit lid, crafted from compostable paperboard, replaces traditional plastic lids for both hot and cold beverages. It offers a secure, leak-resistant seal and supports exceptional branding with Seda’s advanced printing technology, available in up to 10 colors. Made from 100% renewable, low-carbon certified paperboard, the EcoFit lid helps brands meet sustainability goals and reduce their carbon footprint.
Leading coffee shops, restaurants, and convenience stores across North America are already adopting these products to enhance their sustainability efforts. A recent Seda gate-to-gate screening highlighted the EcoFit lid’s significant environmental benefits, including lower water and energy consumption compared to molded fiber lids.
“Our new compostable Double Wall cold cups and EcoFit lids exemplify Seda’s commitment to sustainability and innovation,” said Simohammed Jarfaoui, Managing Director of Seda North America. “We are excited to offer products that not only meet but exceed the stringent environmental standards, setting a new benchmark for sustainable beverage packaging.”
As consumer demand for eco-friendly products grows, Seda remains at the forefront of the industry, delivering top-quality, innovative packaging solutions and exceptional service.
