Hyundai Motor Company and Škoda Group have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to collaborate on building a hydrogen mobility ecosystem.
The agreement was made during the Korea-Czech Republic Business Summit in Prague, with Hyundai’s Executive Vice President Ken Ramírez and Škoda Group CEO Petr Novotný in attendance.
The MOU outlines cooperation on hydrogen fuel cell adoption, energy-efficient mobility solutions, and exploring the hydrogen ecosystem beyond transportation. Both companies view hydrogen as a key element in promoting sustainability, beginning with mobility.
Ramírez emphasized the importance of the partnership in advancing hydrogen technology and achieving carbon neutrality across global markets, including the Czech Republic. Novotný highlighted the role of hydrogen and energy-efficient solutions in creating a more sustainable mobility future.
Hyundai will share its fuel cell technology to support Škoda’s mobility products, with both companies exploring broader applications for hydrogen beyond transportation. This partnership aligns with Hyundai’s global vision under its HTWO brand, which covers the entire hydrogen value chain.
Škoda and Hyundai will also conduct feasibility studies on the use of fuel cell systems beyond mobility, contributing to the global energy transition. Hyundai’s manufacturing plant in Nošovice, Czech Republic, plays a key role in this initiative, with an annual capacity of 350,000 vehicles.
