Ian Walsh currently serves as Chief Executive Officer of FDH Aero, a global distributor of aerospace hardware and chemicals, where he is responsible for driving strategic growth initiatives, customer-centric innovations, and operational excellence across a vast international platform. His work at FDH Aero builds upon a distinguished career that includes executive leadership roles in several leading organizations within the aerospace, defense, and industrial sectors.
Previously, Mr. Walsh held the positions of President, Chief Executive Officer, and Chairman of the Board at Kaman Aerospace Corporation (formerly traded on the NYSE under the ticker symbol KAMN), a premier designer and manufacturer of highly engineered subassemblies, components, and advanced aerospace systems. Under his leadership, Kaman sharpened its focus on innovation and value creation, delivering advanced solutions to meet the demanding needs of the global aerospace market.

Before joining Kaman, Mr. Walsh served as Chief Operating Officer of the REV Group (NYSE: REVG), a diversified manufacturer of specialty vehicles for a broad range of industries including emergency response, recreation, and commercial transportation. At REV Group, he was responsible for overseeing operations across more than 30 well-known brands and 22 production facilities throughout North America. These facilities produced vital assets such as fire trucks, ambulances, motorhomes, and buses—demonstrating Mr. Walsh’s ability to lead complex manufacturing operations while balancing customer requirements and product quality.
A Legacy of Excellence at Textron and the U.S. Marine Corps
Earlier in his career, Mr. Walsh dedicated two decades to Textron Inc. (NYSE: TXT), a multi-industry company known for its aerospace, defense, and industrial capabilities. During his tenure, he held multiple leadership positions, culminating in his role as President and Chief Executive Officer of TRU Simulation + Training. There, he was responsible for delivering innovative flight simulation technologies and training services tailored for commercial, civil, and military aviation sectors. His stewardship of TRU earned recognition across the industry and contributed to Textron’s long-standing reputation for engineering excellence.
As part of Textron’s Executive Leadership Team, Mr. Walsh also held senior positions at Textron Systems, including Senior Vice President and General Manager of Weapon & Sensor Systems. Prior to that, he managed the Lycoming Engines business unit and oversaw various operational divisions as Senior Vice President of Operations. His career at Textron began in marketing at Bell Helicopter, another Textron subsidiary, where he laid the groundwork for what would become a highly respected leadership journey within the aerospace industry.
His professional foundation is anchored in service to the nation: Mr. Walsh served as a U.S. Marine Corps officer and naval aviator from 1989 to 1996. During this period, he piloted AH-1 Cobra attack helicopters on multiple combat deployments in Somalia, Haiti, and Bosnia, developing not only technical flight expertise but also a profound understanding of teamwork, discipline, and high-stakes decision-making. Today, he remains an active pilot with over 2,000 flight hours and holds commercial ratings in both rotary- and fixed-wing aircraft.
