GE HealthCare is donating over $1 million worth of medical equipment, including hand-held ultrasound devices, respirators, patient monitors, and a portable X-ray system, to Assist International, a nonprofit dedicated to providing life-saving solutions globally. The donated equipment will be distributed to healthcare providers in communities impacted by Hurricanes Helene and Milton.
“GE HealthCare is committed to removing barriers and extending access to critical resources in our communities,” said Rana Strellis, Chief Corporate Marketing and Communications Officer at GE HealthCare. “Many communities, including those of our colleagues, are struggling to recover from the devastation of these hurricanes. We hope these donations will help bridge gaps and support recovery efforts.”
Additionally, the GE HealthCare Foundation will donate $200,000 to hurricane relief efforts. This includes $150,000 to the American Red Cross to support ongoing emergency relief and $50,000 to Assist International for humanitarian efforts. The Foundation will also match donations made by US-based employees to further support relief initiatives.
Launched in March 2024, the GE HealthCare Foundation focuses on advancing equitable access to precision healthcare, with an initial focus on improving maternal health outcomes, building on the legacy of the GE Foundation.
