FIH to Showcase Automotive Electronics at IAA Mobility 2025

FIH to Unveil Advanced Automotive Electronics Solutions at IAA Mobility 2025

FIH, a subsidiary of Hon Hai Technology Group , has confirmed that it will be unveiling its latest lineup of automotive electronics solutions at IAA Mobility 2025, Europe’s largest and most influential automotive trade fair. Scheduled to take place in Munich from September 9 to 12, 2025, the event will serve as a premier platform for FIH to highlight its innovations under the theme “Driving the Future of Smart Mobility.”

At the exhibition, FIH will showcase a series of cutting-edge technologies that reflect both its engineering capabilities and its broader vision for the future of mobility. These include its High-Performance Computing (HPC) platform, Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), and Telematics Control Units (TCU). Together, these offerings represent the company’s growing portfolio of solutions designed to meet the fast-changing demands of the global automotive industry.

Responding to Industry Transformation

The automotive sector is currently undergoing one of the most significant transformations in its history. The shift toward electrification, digitalization, and automation is pushing automakers to rethink traditional vehicle design. Instead of being primarily mechanical, vehicles are becoming highly advanced electronic platforms on wheels.

FIH Vice President Dr. Wen Kuo highlighted this transformation during the company’s announcement:

“The global automotive industry is rapidly electrifying, demanding a shift from mechanical-driven to electronics- and electrically-driven design. With over two decades of experience in wireless communication and IoT product design, manufacturing, and integration, FIH helps traditional automakers accelerate this transition. Our automotive electronics solutions and comprehensive one-stop services enable faster product adoption and seamless system integration—empowering clients to lead in the era of smart mobility.”

This vision positions FIH not only as a technology provider but also as a strategic partner for car manufacturers navigating the complexities of next-generation vehicle production.

High-Performance Computing for the Software-Defined Vehicle

One of the key highlights of FIH’s presence at IAA Mobility 2025 will be its evolved High-Performance Computing (HPC) flagship product. The demand for frequent software updates and rapid iterations in the automotive industry has grown sharply, and FIH’s HPC solution has been designed to address these needs.

The product integrates In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) and ADAS, while incorporating advanced Zone Control Unit (ZCU) and Electrical/Electronic Architecture (E/EA). This allows the system to support software upgrades across all vehicle components, breaking away from the current industry limitations where updates are typically restricted to only a few areas such as infotainment or navigation.

By centralizing computing power and memory, FIH’s HPC enables real-time over-the-air (OTA) updates for all connected components in a vehicle. This innovation provides the foundation for what the industry increasingly refers to as the Software-Defined Vehicle (SDV)—a car that evolves throughout its lifecycle with new features, improved safety, and enhanced performance, all delivered via software.

Next-Generation Telematics Solutions

Another area of focus for FIH at IAA Mobility will be its Telematics Control Units (TCUs), which play a critical role in enabling connected mobility. FIH will present two solutions:

  1. 4G e-Call Certified TCU – Already in supply to a globally renowned automotive manufacturer, this version meets the rigorous requirements for emergency call systems, ensuring compliance and reliability.
  2. 5G TCU – A forward-looking solution built for seamless integration with cloud services, supporting real-time data exchange, remote diagnostics, and enhanced connectivity features.

Both TCUs have undergone stringent validation and are certified to industry-leading standards. These include IATF 16949 and ASPICE for automotive quality and process requirements, as well as compliance with ISO 26262 functional safety, UN ECE R155 cybersecurity, and UN ECE R156 OTA software update regulations.

Such certifications underline FIH’s commitment to building products that not only deliver functionality but also meet the highest benchmarks for safety, reliability, and cybersecurity—areas that are becoming increasingly vital as cars evolve into connected devices.

A Growing Global Footprint

Beyond product innovation, FIH continues to expand its global reach and strengthen its automotive electronics business. Leveraging its parent company Foxconn’s extensive experience in manufacturing, FIH combines smart manufacturing techniques with expertise in robotics and equipment to provide scalable, cost-efficient, and high-quality production for its automotive partners.

This approach ensures that automakers working with FIH benefit from a robust supply chain, rapid production flexibility, and the ability to bring new technologies to market more efficiently.
