Exchange Income Corporation (EIC), a diversified, acquisition-focused company in the Aviation & Aerospace and Manufacturing sectors, extends its congratulations to PAL Aerospace, Air Borealis, and their partner Medavie Health NL for being selected to design, manage, and operate integrated ambulance services for the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador.
PAL Aerospace, a global leader in comprehensive aerospace solutions, along with Air Borealis—an alliance between PAL, the Nunatsiavut Group of Companies, and the Innu Development Limited partnership—will oversee the design, management, and operation of both fixed-wing and rotary air ambulance services in the province. This innovative partnership with Medavie Health NL aims to provide safe, reliable, and efficient medical transport for communities across Newfoundland and Labrador.
Mike Pyle, Chief Executive Officer of EIC, stated, “The selection of PAL Aerospace and Air Borealis, in partnership with Medavie Health NL, underscores the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador’s commitment to delivering the highest standard of medical transportation services to its residents.” He noted that EIC is Canada’s largest, most established air ambulance operator, employing both fixed and rotary-wing aircraft. This selection builds on the recent achievements of Carson Air and Keewatin Air LP as the fixed-wing air ambulance providers in British Columbia and Manitoba, further solidifying EIC’s market leadership through strategic investments.
With decades of experience in specialized aviation services, PAL Aerospace is well-equipped to manage air ambulance operations, bolstered by a successful partnership with Medavie in Nova Scotia. The collaboration with Air Borealis and other EIC companies, including Carson Air, Keewatin Air, and Custom Helicopters, ensures the initiative’s success, leveraging their operational and medical transportation expertise.
“It is a privilege to be entrusted with the design, management, and operation of Newfoundland and Labrador’s air ambulance services,” said Calvin Ash, President of PAL Aerospace. “This partnership reflects our long-standing commitment to safety, innovation, and community service in Newfoundland and Labrador. Our aviation expertise, combined with Medavie’s leadership in integrated ambulance services, will deliver exceptional medical transport capabilities to the people of this province, which we proudly call home.
