This conference, catering to customers, partners, and industry leaders, showcased Emerson’s latest advancements in NI hardware and software, aimed at boosting engineering efficiency and fostering collaboration across businesses.

“Our software-centric, modular hardware approach to testing sets us apart and adds unique value for our customers,” said Ritu Favre, group president of Emerson’s Test and Measurement business. “We are thrilled to share our vision of leveraging AI in test and measurement and to continue innovating our leading NI products. Through our secure, expert-led approach, we aim to revolutionize intelligent testing across the industry.”

Emerson is dedicated to continual improvement in NI technology and software, ensuring robust support for R&D in core NI products like LabVIEW and TestStand™, and building a connected workflow with complementary products within the NI LabVIEW+™ Suite. Key product advancements unveiled at NI Connect include:

NI LabVIEW

The latest version of NI LabVIEW focuses on collaborative engineering workflows, integrating new features such as enhanced diff and merge functions, version management, and support for calling .NET Core Assemblies (.NET 8). Demonstrations highlighted AI’s potential within development tools like LabVIEW to increase productivity by automating code description and documentation, crucial for engineers inheriting unclear code. Emerson is also trialing AI technology with LabVIEW and inviting registrations for an upcoming broader program.

NI LabVIEW Community Edition

Emerson announced that NI LabVIEW Community Edition, initially launched in 2019, is now free for students. Additionally, parts of NI LabVIEW, starting with Icon Editor, will become open source to encourage greater community collaboration.

NI InstrumentStudio Professional

Launching in July, NI InstrumentStudio™ Professional extends the functionality of the PXI companion software InstrumentStudio to cover more of the electronic validation workflow, including automation and measurement customization. InstrumentStudio Pro is designed to work with LabVIEW and TestStand and will be automatically included for LabVIEW+ suite license holders, enhancing their value.

NI PXI Hardware

Emerson is bolstering its NI PXI hardware portfolio with recent additions like the NI PXIe-5633 Vector Network Analyzer (VNA) module, the PXIe-6571 Digital Pattern Instrument, and a new family of controllers built on 11th generation Intel Core processors. These efforts highlight Emerson’s commitment to enhancing its solutions catalogue, including the NI Semiconductor Test System (STS), now celebrating its 10th anniversary.
