Emerson and Tata Tech Partner on Next-Gen Mobility Testing

Emerson and Tata Technologies Forge Strategic Alliance to Revolutionize Testing Solutions for Next-Gen Mobility Platforms

Emerson a global leader in industrial technology and advanced automation solutions, has officially announced a strategic partnership with Tata Technologies (NSE: TATATECH), a prominent player in product engineering and digital services. This collaboration is aimed at developing integrated, next-generation testing and validation frameworks to serve global original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) in the automotive, aerospace, and commercial vehicle sectors.

The partnership is rooted in a shared vision to empower OEMs to adapt to and thrive in an increasingly complex mobility environment. Today’s vehicles are not just machines — they are evolving into highly sophisticated software-defined platforms, with increasing levels of electrification, connectivity, and autonomy. Navigating these demands requires more than just traditional validation and testing approaches. That’s where Emerson and Tata Technologies come in — combining their respective strengths to create innovative, scalable, and cost-efficient testing ecosystems that are both future-ready and performance-focused.

Emerson brings to the table its market-leading portfolio of software-connected test and measurement solutions. With a long-standing legacy in advanced automation, Emerson is recognized for its ability to deliver precision testing solutions across multiple industries. Tata Technologies, on the other hand, offers global engineering services and unmatched expertise in systems engineering, electrical and electronic (E/E) architectures, and next-gen mobility platforms. The synergy between these two industry leaders creates a formidable alliance positioned to redefine how testing and validation are approached for modern vehicles.

Shitendra Bhattacharya, Country Head and Director for Emerson’s Test and Measurement business in India, emphasized the transformative nature of the collaboration. “This collaboration represents a powerful synergy between Emerson’s test and measurement innovation and Tata Technologies’ engineering scale,” he said. “Together, we can deliver end-to-end solutions that help customers reduce complexity and stay ahead in a highly dynamic transportation landscape.”

The partnership is already yielding promising results. In a recent pilot program with a European luxury automotive OEM, the two companies co-developed electric vehicle (EV) powertrain test rigs in a remarkably short span of just five months. This represents a 67% reduction in development time compared to the industry standard of 15 months. This efficiency leap underscores how the collaboration is enabling faster product cycles without compromising on quality or performance.

Another milestone achievement from the partnership was seen in a project involving a premium European car brand. The companies collaborated to build a fully automated validation setup for a next-generation infotainment head-up display (HUD) unit. The system executed over 30,000 unique test scenarios, significantly enhancing the speed and reliability of the product development cycle. These early wins not only demonstrate the technical depth of the collaboration but also validate the need for agile, intelligent test systems in a fast-evolving market.

From Tata Technologies’ perspective, this collaboration is closely aligned with its strategic vision to accelerate the future of software-defined mobility. Nachiket Paranjpe, President and Head of Automotive Sales at Tata Technologies, shared his optimism about the initiative. “We are thrilled to collaborate with Emerson to innovate intelligent, automated testing and validation solutions that address the growing complexity of connected, autonomous, and software-defined mobility platforms,” he said. “This partnership reinforces our commitment to engineering a software-defined future, helping OEMs innovate faster, and deliver connected, autonomous, and sustainable mobility that delivers a great customer experience.”

The implications of this partnership extend well beyond pilot programs. Both companies have ambitious plans to scale their efforts and expand their offerings globally. Ongoing pilot programs are currently being executed in key mobility hubs such as India, Europe, and North America. These regional initiatives serve as testbeds for continuous improvement, innovation, and collaboration with global OEMs.
