E3 Lithium Announces Plans for a Fully Integrated Lithium Demonstration Facility Construction

E3 Lithium Ltd., a leading Canadian lithium company, is excited to announce plans to construct a fully integrated Lithium Brine Demonstration Facility (the “Demo Project”). The facility aims to produce battery-grade lithium carbonate from brines within Alberta’s Leduc reservoir, marking a key milestone in the Company’s strategic efforts to establish a commercial lithium operation in western Canada. This development is set to further solidify the region as a major lithium resource hub.

Building on the success of the Direct Lithium Extraction (“DLE”) pilot program conducted in 2023, which demonstrated the technical feasibility of various DLE technologies, including E3 Lithium’s proprietary DLE process, the Demo Project will take the next step. The data gathered during the 2023 pilot was instrumental in the recently released Pre-Feasibility Study (“PFS”), which confirmed the economic viability of lithium projects in Alberta.

The Demo Project will feature a fully integrated process, scaling up the DLE system while adding purification, concentration, and chemical conversion stages to continuously process brine into battery-grade lithium carbonate. Additional hydroxide processing will occur offsite. The project’s goal is to integrate all necessary components onsite, simulating a commercial-scale system as closely as possible while generating real-time data for advanced engineering and commercial system design. The facility will also produce samples for discussions with potential strategic partners and will allow the Company to optimize and de-risk each step of the production process as it progresses towards completing a full feasibility study.

This facility will be the first of its kind in Canada and is expected to play a significant role in driving Alberta’s battery supply chain economy. E3 Lithium plans to release further details on the Demo Project in the coming months as it finalizes the design and operational plans.

“We are thrilled to take this next step towards demonstrating the production of battery-quality lithium carbonate from our Leduc Brine,” said Chris Doornbos, President and CEO of E3 Lithium. “Our goal is to become a direct supplier to the battery industry. The Demo Project represents a crucial advancement for the Clearwater Project, providing samples to potential strategic partners and further advancing commercial-scale lithium production in Alberta.”

On behalf of the Board of Directors,
Chris Doornbos, President & CEO
