The Supervisory Board of Daimler Truck Holding AG has appointed Achim Puchert to the Board of Management, with his term extending until November 30, 2027. Currently serving as CEO and President of Mercedes-Benz do Brasil and Latin America, Puchert (45) will take over from Karin Rådström as CEO of Mercedes-Benz Trucks, overseeing the regions of Europe and Latin America starting on December 1, 2024.
Joe Kaeser, Chairman of the Supervisory Board, praised the selection, emphasizing Puchert’s strong team spirit, leadership skills, and proven experience in business restructuring and development. “Achim brings all these qualities to the role and has demonstrated them effectively as CEO of Mercedes-Benz do Brasil,” said Kaeser. “We look forward to working with him as he steps into this new position.”
Michael Brecht, Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Board and Chairman of the General Works Council, also expressed support for Puchert’s appointment, citing his familiarity with the Wörth plant and his successful tenure in Brazil. Brecht emphasized the importance of considering employee and shareholder interests as Mercedes-Benz Trucks faces new challenges.
Karin Rådström, Chairwoman of Daimler Truck Holding AG, described Puchert as both a strategic thinker and a transformational leader who excels in empowering his teams. “In less than three years, he has revitalized the Mercedes-Benz do Brasil business, transforming a previously struggling segment into a more successful operation,” Rådström noted.
Achim Puchert’s career with Daimler began in 2002, where he took on multiple roles in Key Account Management, Sales, and Market Management. His experience includes serving as Senior Manager of the Alliance Office for Daimler’s former Russian cooperation, Director of International Operations, and Senior Vice President of Sales, Marketing, and Customer Service for Daimler Truck Asia. Since 2022, he has led Mercedes-Benz do Brasil and the truck and bus business across South America.
Puchert holds a Master’s degree in Economics and Business Administration with a focus on International Business, as well as a Master’s in International Management. Daimler Truck Holding AG has yet to announce his successor in his current role.
The Supervisory Board’s decision regarding Puchert’s appointment applies equally to Daimler Truck AG.
