Coke Florida Announces Leadership Changes: Andy Hill Leads Operations, Benford Becomes CEO Advisor

Coca-Cola Beverages Florida, LLC (Coke Florida) has announced key leadership changes as the company continues to focus on growth and innovation. Andy Hill, currently serving as Chief Customer Officer, will take on an expanded role as Chief Customer and Commercial Officer, reporting directly to Troy Taylor, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Coke Florida. In addition, Thomas Benford, President and Chief Operating Officer, has decided to step down at the end of the year and will transition into an advisory role to Mr. Taylor.

Hill, who joined Coke Florida in 2024, has an extensive background in consumer and retail industries. With over three decades of experience, he has successfully driven growth in highly competitive markets. Before joining Coke Florida, Hill led the US Retail business at Mondelez International, where he played a key role in expanding market share and strengthening customer relationships. Prior to Mondelez, Hill held various leadership positions within the Coca-Cola system, where he developed a deep understanding of the beverage industry and honed his strategic leadership skills.

Taylor expressed confidence in Hill’s ability to take on this enhanced role, highlighting his contributions to the company’s commercial operations. “Since joining Coke Florida last year, Andy has quickly made positive impacts across our commercial operations. His strategic vision and leadership have been instrumental in enhancing our customer partnerships and driving business performance. I am confident that Andy will continue to provide strong leadership while developing talent and fostering long-term growth for our company,” Taylor stated.

As Hill takes on this expanded responsibility, he will be tasked with further aligning Coke Florida’s customer engagement strategies with its commercial initiatives. This move is expected to strengthen the company’s market presence and accelerate business expansion. By integrating customer and commercial functions under one leadership structure, Coke Florida aims to enhance collaboration, drive efficiency, and better serve its diverse consumer base across Florida.

Meanwhile, Benford’s transition marks the conclusion of a significant chapter in Coke Florida’s journey. A key member of the leadership team since the company’s founding in 2015, Benford has played a vital role in shaping the organization’s strategy, culture, and operational excellence. Over the years, he has been instrumental in driving sustainable, profitable growth and ensuring that Coke Florida remains a leader in the beverage industry.

Reflecting on Benford’s contributions, Taylor acknowledged the impact he has had on the company. “I have known and worked with Thomas for nearly 25 years, and he has made invaluable contributions to Coke Florida. His leadership, dedication, and strategic insights have been pivotal to our success. I deeply appreciate his commitment and thank him for his friendship and service. On behalf of the entire company, I wish him the very best in his future endeavors,” said Taylor.

As Benford transitions into an advisory role, he will continue to provide strategic guidance to Taylor and the leadership team. His experience and expertise will be valuable as Coke Florida continues to navigate a dynamic market environment and capitalize on growth opportunities. The company remains focused on maintaining operational excellence and reinforcing its position as a leading Coca-Cola bottler in the United States.

Coke Florida’s leadership changes come at a time when the company is experiencing strong momentum. As the sixth-largest Coca-Cola bottler in the United States, Coke Florida plays a critical role in marketing, selling, manufacturing, distributing, and merchandising products of The Coca-Cola Company. The company’s exclusive territory covers over 21 million consumers across 47 Florida counties, including major metropolitan areas such as Miami, Tampa, Orlando, and Jacksonville. This vast footprint underscores the company’s importance within the Coca-Cola system and highlights the significance of effective leadership in driving growth and innovation.

In addition to its commercial success, Coke Florida is recognized for its commitment to sustainability, diversity, and community engagement. The company employs over 5,000 associates and operates four GreenCircle certified manufacturing facilities, reinforcing its dedication to environmentally responsible business practices. Additionally, with 18 sales and distribution centers, Coke Florida ensures that its products are efficiently delivered to customers and consumers across the state.

Coke Florida’s leadership in corporate responsibility is also evident in its recognition as one of the largest Black-owned businesses in the United States. The company is Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) certified and continues to set benchmarks for inclusion and equity within the industry. In 2024, Coke Florida was honored as a US Best Managed Company by Deloitte-Private and The Wall Street Journal for the third consecutive year, a testament to its strong leadership, strategic vision, and operational excellence.

As Coke Florida moves forward with its leadership transition, the company remains committed to its core values of integrity, collaboration, and continuous improvement. With Andy Hill at the helm of customer and commercial operations, the company is well-positioned to enhance its market strategy and deliver exceptional value to customers and stakeholders. Meanwhile, Benford’s advisory role will provide continuity and strategic guidance as the company embarks on its next phase of growth.

The leadership changes at Coke Florida signal a renewed focus on innovation, customer engagement, and operational efficiency. As the company continues to expand its presence and drive sustainable growth, the contributions of leaders like Hill and Benford will remain integral to its ongoing success. Coke Florida’s ability to adapt to evolving market trends, invest in its people, and uphold its commitment to excellence ensures that it remains a dominant force in the beverage industry for years to come.
