The Chevrolet Vintage program is structured into two distinct formats.
- Faithful Restorations: In this category, vehicles are preserved with complete fidelity to their original factory specifications. Every detail, from paint texture to hardware and upholstery, is carefully reproduced to look and feel exactly as it did when the car first left the assembly line.
- Restomods: For other vehicles, GM is taking a bolder approach by blending classic designs with modern performance, safety, and comfort. This creates cars that maintain the nostalgic look and charm of the originals but feature upgraded powertrains, advanced brakes, modernized interiors, and improved safety systems.
Both types of vehicles undergo rigorous testing at GM’s Indaiatuba Proving Ground, located about 60 miles outside São Paulo. This ensures not only performance but also guarantees that the restorations maintain their historical legitimacy.
