Altium & AWS Partner to Equip India’s Engineers with Electronics & Cloud Skills
Altium LLC, a global leader in software and solutions for the electronics industry, has announced a strategic collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS) India Private Limited to revolutionize technology education across India. This initiative is designed to prepare students for the evolving demands of a technology-driven workforce by integrating a cutting-edge curriculum into engineering programs nationwide. As part of the AWS Skills to Jobs Tech Alliance (Tech Alliance) in India, this partnership brings together key stakeholders—including employers, government agencies, workforce development organizations, and education leaders—to address skill gaps in college and university curricula. The ultimate goal is to enhance career readiness and equip students with industry-relevant skills.
By merging Altium’s expertise in electronics design with AWS’s cloud computing curriculum, this collaboration will provide students with hands-on, practical training to address critical skills shortages in electronics, cloud computing, and the Internet of Things (IoT). AWS, a global leader in cloud computing, offers secure, scalable services that enable businesses of all sizes to innovate and grow in the digital economy. By integrating Altium’s specialized focus on electronics with AWS’s cloud knowledge, the program will ensure graduates are well-prepared for high-demand careers.
Bridging Education and Industry with Hands-On Learning
Altium Education’s new electronics design curriculum, enriched with four key AWS modules, will cover foundational cloud technology, networking, IoT, and more. The training will provide students with essential skills that align with real-world industry requirements. Key topics include:

- AWS Cloud Practitioner Essentials – Fundamentals of cloud technology.
- AWS Technical Essentials – Core cloud concepts including networking, databases, and storage.
- Amazon AppStream 2.0 Primer – AWS’s application streaming solution.
- IoT Fundamentals – Training in IoT and smart technology applications.
These courses will be accessible through Altium Education, offering tailored resources for Indian students and faculty. Altium has already established partnerships with 104 institutions across India, impacting over 11,400 students. The new curriculum will be integrated into major engineering programs, supported by Altium-branded labs, Centers of Excellence, and immersive training opportunities. Key institutions that have already adopted this program include Chandigarh University, Bannari Amman Institute of Technology, IIT Bhubaneswar, and SRM Institute of Science and Technology. Plans are in place to expand further.
In addition to student training, Altium will provide specialized workshops for faculty members to equip them with the skills necessary to teach advanced electronics and cloud computing concepts. These workshops will focus on integrating Altium Designer and Altium 365 into engineering curricula, ensuring students gain hands-on experience with industry-leading tools. With over 300 new students enrolling in Altium’s programs each week, this training initiative will help meet the growing demand for skilled engineers in India’s booming electronics sector.
“This collaboration goes beyond education; it’s about equipping a generation with skills that directly translate into industry impact,” said Rea Callender, Vice President of Altium Education. “By combining Altium’s hands-on electronics courses with AWS’s industry-leading cloud curriculum, we’re providing students with the tools to become tomorrow’s tech leaders and innovators.”
Joint Initiatives for Industry Impact
Beyond the curriculum, Altium and AWS India are launching several initiatives to maximize the collaboration’s impact, including:
- On-Campus Applied Learning – Co-hosted events, workshops, and challenges where students gain hands-on experience in solving real-world industry problems.
- Pathways to Employment – Students who complete the joint curriculum will gain access to job placement opportunities through industry partnerships.
“The Government of India has made it a top priority to transform India into a global manufacturing and electronics hub, driving innovation and upskilling the talent pool,” said Pankaj Gupta, Leader – Public Sector, AWS India Private Limited. “AWS and Altium are coming together to support this vision by helping students develop essential skills in cloud computing and electronics design, thus building a skilled workforce for the industry.”
This initiative represents a forward-thinking approach to technology education in India, bringing together electronics design and cloud computing expertise to develop a workforce that is ready for the digital economy. By investing in India’s educational ecosystem, Altium and AWS India are setting new standards for excellence in engineering education while equipping students with the knowledge and tools necessary to succeed in a rapidly evolving industry.
