InSite Engineering, LLC Secures Strategic Investment from Godspeed Capital

InSite Engineering, LLC (“InSite” or “the Company”), a prominent provider of water and wastewater engineering and design services, has announced a strategic investment from Godspeed Capital Management LP (“Godspeed Capital”). Godspeed Capital is a private equity firm specializing in the architecture, engineering, consulting, and government services sectors. The financial specifics of the deal have not been disclosed.

Through this investment, Godspeed Capital aims to collaborate with InSite’s leadership to position the Company as a flagship brand in a new water and wastewater engineering services platform. This initiative will focus on critical infrastructure projects throughout the Southeastern United States. With nearly two decades of experience, InSite will continue to serve municipal, state, and local government clients, as well as utilities and commercial enterprises, providing comprehensive engineering and design solutions to tackle complex infrastructure challenges.

Established in 2005 and headquartered in Hoover, Alabama, InSite has earned a strong reputation as a trusted partner in infrastructure engineering. The firm has developed deep subject matter expertise and boasts a highly skilled team of over 40 professionals. Over the years, it has successfully delivered numerous wastewater treatment facilities, municipal infrastructure projects, and civil engineering solutions, building a solid client base across Alabama and Georgia.

As demand for infrastructure upgrades rises due to aging assets, regional population growth, and evolving environmental regulations—such as PFAS remediation—InSite is well-positioned to capitalize on these opportunities. The firm maintains a robust pipeline of contracted projects and has near-term expansion opportunities in Florida, South Carolina, and Mississippi.

Godspeed Capital will bring its industry expertise and platform development capabilities to accelerate InSite’s growth. Since its inception in 2021, Godspeed Capital has made 36 investments, establishing nine engineering, consulting, and government service platform businesses. The firm’s proven buy-and-build strategy has positioned it as a leader in scaling businesses that operate at the intersection of public and private sectors.

As part of this transition, John Jett, InSite’s Civil Engineering Division Manager, will take on the role of President of the newly established platform. He will be joined by Shannon King, who will serve as Vice President of Corporate Growth & Development. Other key executives in the leadership team include Matt Golab, Vice President of Operations, Tim Rylee, Vice President of the Birmingham Division, and Jonathan Bonner, Vice President of the Tuscaloosa Division. This experienced leadership team will work alongside Godspeed Capital to extend InSite’s geographic footprint, strengthen business development efforts, expand service offerings, and seize new market opportunities.

“We are excited to partner with Godspeed Capital to expand our presence in a key market,” said Jett. “Godspeed’s history of successfully building full-service engineering and consulting platforms offers us an excellent opportunity to enhance our management team and broaden our capabilities. We look forward to entering new markets and better serving our clients.”

Douglas T. Lake, Jr., Founder and Managing Partner of Godspeed Capital, emphasized the potential of the partnership, stating, “For 20 years, InSite has been a leader in the water and wastewater infrastructure space, thanks to its exceptional management team and strong track record. As the first investment for Godspeed Capital Fund III, InSite represents a critical step in expanding our infrastructure engineering platform in the Southeast. We look forward to working with John and his team to drive operational growth and pursue strategic acquisitions.”

Shannon King echoed these sentiments, adding, “InSite is poised for a significant growth phase with the support of Godspeed Capital. Their team recognizes the unique capabilities and expertise InSite brings to the market. With their investment, we have a strategic partner aligned with our vision and committed to unlocking our full potential.”

J. Cameron Terry II, Principal at Godspeed Capital, highlighted the broader strategy, stating, “This investment is a foundational move in developing a robust water, wastewater, and civil engineering platform across the South and Southeast. InSite’s strong leadership team, established relationships in Alabama and Georgia, and comprehensive engineering capabilities make it a prime candidate for both organic and inorganic growth, as well as geographic diversification. Our goal is to position InSite as the premier water and wastewater engineering services provider in the region.”

InSite represents Godspeed Capital’s ninth platform investment since the firm’s founding. Janney Montgomery Scott acted as InSite’s exclusive financial advisor, with legal advisory services provided by Bradley. Godspeed Capital was represented by Latham & Watkins LLP in the transaction.

This strategic investment marks a significant milestone for InSite Engineering, reinforcing its role as a leader in infrastructure solutions and setting the stage for accelerated growth and innovation in the water and wastewater engineering sector.
